ITX30 is slightly smaller, does cool slightly better (0.07c) and is slightly quieter (3.5dBA) in their testing. Assuming these measurements are accurate the 0.7c is too close to say it's better or worse. Most agree +/- 1-2c is margin of air, and 3-4dBA measurement is the amount of difference it takes for human ear to notice a difference in volume.

My TY100 fans do not sound like the video. All I hear from them is wind noise below 1750rpm and than a slight hum

That's good to hear. I didn't liked the sound of the ty100 at max RPM; I think it was 2100 in the video.

They are basically the same in terms of cooling, but the itx30 is just 30mm. I've been trying to find a review that applies PWM or auto fan speed, to see if in that case there is a difference between the two because I won't be running them at max every time.

The zalman one was preferred in a toms hardware review but I couldn't find anything else about it to compare.

Specs on their website
Fan is 80 x 80 x 10mm, 4-pin PWM, EBR bearing, 2500rpm@100%, 1400rpm@30% +/- 300rpm

TY100 should perform a little better then in PWM Mode theoretically, with it being a 100mm fan?

Fans are only part of it. All copper cools better than copper / aluminum combo. It's really down to which one you like. I would get the ITX30. I have AXP-100 and ITX30 looks nice, performs good, and is as quiet as AXP-100.

I like the ITX30 for the size.

When I get the prolimatech fan, I will test how changing the case fan affects the cpu cooler. If it is somewhat significant with the prolimatech vs srock case fan, that will be another reason to get the ITX30. It would even allow me to use a 25mm fan with enough clearance.

I have a doubt. The best setup in my case would be with the cpu cooler pushing air rather than pulling it right?

Or is it better to put both the case and cpu fan to pull air?

I really don't know which way will be best case and CPU intake or case and CPU exhaust,. I do both need to be moving air in same direction. With Promlimatech case fans supplying / removing more than GPU / CPU fans means whichever way will work. Just need to test and see which works best. thumb.gif

I see no advantage in having a 25mm fan over CPU. but having that option can't hurt. wink.gif

PWM fans work better than voltage regulated fans. Both will have the same full speed, PWM will run slower and have infinite variation of speeds compared to voltage regulated having only a few speeds.

All right biggrin.gif

Time to get some hardware on my hands! I will test both modes and see which works best thumb.gif

I edited "Optimum case cooling" adding better description of case and cooler fan airflow balance. wink.gif

Awesome! I'll check it out soon enough. Thanks doyll thumb.gif
