In case of Witcher2 its not stuttering, but framedrop. Now I got the point - I just misunderstood what exact type of issue you was thinking of.

Just to explain - frame drop occurs when FPS is getting very low due some reason. When engine is stuttering, FPS may be high. Now I got the point so I can focus on specific symptoms...

No, it's no frame drop, both 14.x and 13.12 stay at a rock-solid 60fps when doing this, 14.x stutters, 13.12 does not.
Same for every other game with which i experience this problem, fps are always nailed at 60, vsync, triplebuffer, limited at 60.
14.x stutters, older drivers do not. Rest assured, this IS a driver issue.
Thanks for trying to help anyways, but it's up to the CAT team to resolve this ;-)

I'm on win7 x64, but the problem also occurs with win8.x, as others have reported.

Win 7 x64
Gigabyte HD 7970 OC Rev 2.1

Are you using True audio or AMD High Definition Audio device?

In my case any AMD audio device is disabled - I have other sound card. Disabling AMD audio is preventing any potential conflicts between two audio devices.

Edit: As a side effect it may solve or mask some other issues related to games...

Disabled here as well.....also tried different versions of the ATI Pci Bus driver to no avail.

Same here.

Ok... I have to re-check the problematic game engine, and try to enable the audio device...

not only is triple buffering... but did some other tests in that game and can guarantee that the built-in Batman AO benchmark is misleading 'cause it doesn't focus on the real demanding behaviors

every time Batman launches the claw somewhere and goes to... (with the F key) frame drops (even to 48 or less) whether with Vsync ON or OFF... and the slowdown is really noticeable
even worse when you fly with him mad.gif

bad game coding or drivers?

then, many games have issues when you run with your character and also dynamic camera... i don't know if it's a problem about DX11 | game engine | texture loading/streaming... but IMO they should investigate
if textures are already loaded inside the Vram is really weird...
