[TPU] Corsair Expands PC Case Line with a Trio of Carbide Series SPEC Gaming Cases - Page 7

Nowadays I prefer less 'flashy' / 'aggressive' looking cases, like the Air 540 in my sig or the 250D I just picked up for a friend's mITX build, but I can see the appeal of it and can't really understand the cry outs. Plus, my budget for a case as a teenager was in the price region of 30 - 60$ so it makes perfect sense to have a case like that available for that target group, with those aesthetics. Definitely not on the short side of features either.

I bet there's a much bigger market for cases that look like this than something like the 600t or 950d or 750d.. just saying. People on this forum are typically looking at more mid end to high end pc's but a lot of people I know who build computers laugh when I tell them I spend XXX money on a case. Not everyone cares about the case form, just as long as it can function.

Majority of people build on a budget, sure not on this forum but other people aren't looking to buy a $150 case

To be fair if you took away the LED fans on this SPEC-03 would look like the Corsair Air 540 in half.

Carbide series is "Everything you need and nothing you don't" but they omitted bottom fan filter. You can argue that the top was omitted on purpose, but the bottom?

However, it's a very reasonable price for what you get.

If you cut away the "grille" then it looks like the 760T/ 730T/230T front more or less.

SPEC-02
Quote:
Like all Corsair cases, the SPEC-02 is designed for cooling, so you’re covered if you’re overclocking, running multiple GPUs, or if you just want more airflow. There are mounting points for up to six fans, including dual front 140mm or 120mm fans, dual 120mm fans on top, a bottom-mounted 120mm fan, and a rear 120mm fan.

Like all Corsair cases, the SPEC-01 is designed for cooling, so you’re covered if you’re overclocking, running multiple GPUs, or if you just want more airflow. There are mounting points for up to five fans, including dual front 140mm or 120mm fans, dual 120mm fans on top, and a rear 120mm fan.

So I guess that confirms SPEC-02 and SPEC-03 have dual 140mm mounts.

This case is very good to my people (as example)...
Here (Brazil), where a 900D cost 900 USD... if we can buy a case like this by USD 90 or USD100, is a very good choice... because the most of the people, need from a case, good space and refrigeration to allow a good PC...
What I mean is that people prefer to spend their money (in expensive countries like this), to a strong VGA and PSU... motherboards, cpus , mem and SSD after... and then go to a case.
IMHO is a nice case for an affordable price... and people here liked.

Or are some guys comparing with Obsidian series a USD50- or USD 60-?
Each case can fit to some budget guys... this cases is intended to people that want a good case and nice looking (that's personal for each one)... and can not spend too much, or prefer to save $ to other parts.
I dont agree people to force opinion missing education...
If someone don't like, just let the people have they own opinion...
Also I don't know how people can talk badmouth about things there they don't know.

The only one i would consider is the spec 2 as i like the fine spaced grill rather than the chunky bars.

I guess you could call it a blend of 540 (grille) and 760T (upper half of the front) tongue.gif
I'm personally not a big fan of filters, rather just use a blower every few months and have unrestricted airflow, but point taken.

The front hard drive cage can be removed entirely and you can put a 240mm radiator up there if you felt the need.

Fans are drilled 15mm apart and place for a radiator tank.

I kinda like it. It reminds me of an ugly girl whos skinny with a huge rack.
