ASRock Z87 Extreme3 Build, won't boot

Hi all,

Recently built a new computer, using an i5 4670k and an ASRock Z87 Extreme3 motherboard. I "believe" I have everything set in place, but the computer will not boot. I am using a Coolermaster 922, and the power button header connectors have 2 slots, while the motherboard only notes one header for the power button. The computer will not start. any help please? Thank you.

Quick update, I have (somehow) managed to get the computer to post. However, it needs a couple tries (as in the fans will spin a bit, then stop, then start, then stop, then work completely). I also get 3 long beeps from the motherboard, repeating. I have read that this means that there is a keyboard error? Not sure though.

Maybe listing out the remainder of your new hardware specs would help.

Nothing too outrageous about your hardware so I wouldn't immediately assume that you have a faulty component.

If it were me here is what I would do.

Unplug power supply from wall outlet
Remove motherboard battery
Move CMOS jumper to clear position
Remove everything from the case.
Place the motherboard on static free surface.
Minimal hardware build (no external devices other than mouse, keyboard and monitor)
Move CMOS jumper back to save position
Re-install motherboard battery
Make sure to connect all power supply connections to the motherboard EXCEPT for the front panel wires
Plug power supply back into wall outlet
Use a small screw driver or jumper wire to short the PW_Switch +/- pins on the motherboard.
See if the system will stay powered up and let you into the BIOS
In BIOS, load default BIOS values and save
Exit

Report results.

I did try all of these things, and I was still unable to get past the computer booting. I ended up calling Newegg for an RMA, since it seems like the RAM slots were dead. Thank you for the help.
