Why would you make a VR headset with the assumption that people won't move their eyes?

Try harder.

Besides... Tell me how can you even see 180º with your eyes positioned further inwards than your skull, with the nose bridge in between, and with a cornea that cannot physically cover such an angle. Seen the shape of it? It'd need to be more than half a sphere to cover such an angle.

Sorry you have poor peripheral vision... what else do you want us to say? Everyone is different.
Head straight, eyes straight ahead and not moving, arms straight out to the side. EVEN then I can see both my hands, not very well, but I can see them. If I move my eyes (which everyone should/will do with a vr headset on) I can see a good foot or so behind each arm.

Your vision just sucks then man. And I have -5.5 contact prescription.

Edit: I'm not getting next gen, but its good to see someone else working on VR. Can't wait for OR to be perfected more.

Also, my reaction from the announcement.

Would be Interesting if there was a PC model too, but I guess Oculus Rift is for that. This Project Morpheus does look aesthetically appealing.
And nope, apparently it was an april fools, I went to the main page and was reading it like "What?" I almost believed it to be honest but some of the descriptions didn't sway me then I saw "Tissue Restoration Massage Mode" and "Optional On-Board Razer Venom Delivery System" and that solidified it, would be pretty cool though if it was true.
