part of me likes that there is once again competition of used games against game stop, the other side wished it wasn't walmart though.

wal mart and game stop is a matter of walking 1 min apart for me. i would rather trade in my game for a bushel of bananas than money that i would never spend at gamestop anyday.

EA is going to start throwing those activation keys on every game. Other publishers will follow. Plus the walmart around here does not have an "upstanding" environment, if you catch my drift

I live in NYC so Walmart is a no go. I am going to rely on Walmart forcing Gamestop into competitive pricing.

Why is Walmart a no go there? Never been to NYC so I don't get it lol. I was born and raised in the Atlanta area so seeing Walmart is as common as it gets down here.

Heh, though seriously...I wonder if Game Stop corporate actually had a plan to encourage franchises to open close to Walmarts or department stores in general. In my town I have two; one right by Target and the other right by...Walmart. If they did, that is really coming back to bite them.

Though I don't see this as a good thing...this is probably going to make the used game market grow...which is going to worry the publishers into increasing the prices of games...and while they are at it they will increase the price of PC games that we can't trade in anyways (or even sell ourselves in the case of digital purchases).

GS corp definitely did that for a reason. I'm a previous store manager, was with them for 9 years. They pushed to be close to anchor stores to drive business as well as encroach on black fri sales with midnight openings. Also, they had a huge push against Best Buy where we would basically steal people from their game release midnight launches. If anyone else has questions about GS and it's policies send me a PM.
