Gamestop needs some better competition but its going to cost Walmart alot in the beginning to get a solid working system in place.

I'd rather have more mom and pop game stores than dealing with walmart :[

This is a mixed bag of blessings. With Wal-Mart in the game I'm sure Target will probably have this on their horizon soon. The fear I have is the clout of Wal-Mart, if they really wanted to they could force Gamestop to truly consider if the business of used games is worth it. I went in my local Gamestop the other day and was thinking it would be nice if they could get into computer hardware, for us that don't have a local Microcenter or the like it would be nice to have something beside Bestbuy if your in a pinch and need something for your computer.

I remember I drove over to the next town and went to gamestop and they offered $1-2 for some games I had. Then Offroad Fury 3 on PS2 they offered $15 for but had a tiny scratch and they said they were going to charge a $8 resurfacing fee so I would only get $7. I'd rather give it away to a random person at Gamestop who could play it than do that. I haven't been there since (~10 years), and still refuse to do business with the franchise.

Also, is there a better source you could link to? Unless we get subscription, we cant even read the article.

They charged you for them buying your game?

If they actually had competitive prices it would be awesome...I have two microcenters within like 5miles but with me relying on public transportation its like a 2.5hr trip and will cost me like 50 bucks haha. There is a gamestop 5 min down the road.

How is that shady? Not commenting to his exact post, but when someone brings in a scratched up game they can't resell it like that. It has to be sent off for refurbishing. Granted $8 is higher than I ever knew of in my tenure with the company, most we charged was $3. You gotta realize that not everyone takes very good care of their games. You can't pass that crap off to the customer. Now, with that being said I'm aware a lot used games that are sold in GS's are scratched and don't work but in the stores I ran I consistently sent games back to the warehouse for refurbishing even ones that were already in my inventory to avoid any customer issues.
