Best bang for buck sub 350 dollars R9 280X? GTX 770? - Page 2

Well, here in the marketplace, I found THIS card, which is a pretty good deal.

You MIGHT be able to work out something on this one with buying the 7870xt cards together.

It is up to you. Oddly enough, I don't see many of the 660/660ti cards on the market. There typically is a few.
If you decide to look at refurbished as well, and are looking at an EVGA card on Newegg, I would suggest looking at EVGA's site as well. They typically have the same things listed, but it is cheaper on EVGA's site.
http://www.evga.com/Products/ProductList.aspx?type=8

If you aren't in a hurry, keep an eye out in the marketplace.
GL with the search!!

If your open to a used card, the gtx 780 would be great. Prices haven't dropped much when the latest gen comes out. Its not worth waiting just for price drops due to next gen, only worth waiting if you want next gen. Seems like your hurting for gpu power now though and usually launch time is top end which is over your budget anyways.

I say if you had to go new, the 280x might be the best bet for 1440p but I would likely still get a gtx770 2gb over the 4gb one. Be sure to swing by the gtx 770 owners club and ask in there. There are a few guys in there with 1440p and some 3 monitor setups.

I wouldnt wait since 780gtx to reach 350usd will take some months (maybe 5or 6) and but if you want to wait do it
post #16 of 23
The 770 is not a bad choice at all, but quite honestly, i think it might be a good choice to wait for the 780 to drop if you can.

i'd try to hunt down at least a 780 rather buy a 770 now; get that gk110 chip !

Grab the 280X now,why wait? You will be able to sell it for the same price or more. Nvidia's will just depreciate. wink.gif

Just because you have so many options....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%204809&IsNodeId=1&name=Open%20Box

You can grab a couple of open box 270x cards within your budget and they will outperform everything else listed in the budget so far. Plus, you don't have to wait. Just make sure you get one with a good cooler. Stau away from the ones with the single fan in the middle of the card. Powercolor junk coolers. I wouldn't put those on an old C2D.....

EDIT: Specifically, I meant you SHOULD get one of these 2 choices...
