It's safe to assume that if they haven't said so they're not

Well, we'll see then. Would certainly be foolish of them not too considering the competition.

Either way I know that for me I am already feeling nauseous at the thought of having a whole other generation of Unreal looking games. It's such a fake and plastic-y looking engine that to have to go through years of it again just makes me sad...I for one truly hope that some other engines will come along and take it down a peg or two.

It's a really good way to learn to code tough, much better than having to solve weird logic problems and stuff rolleyes.gif

Too bad. frown.gif Sadly programming puts me to sleep faster than ambien.

Hey if its easy to use and supported by a lot of platforms it will be the engine of choice. But never while playing Mass effect was I thinking "agh! I can't get immersed with all these plasticy looking people!"

Oh I do. It isn't even so much the plastic-y look as it is the sameness between 99% of the games that use it. No matter the game, genre, art direction, etc I can INSTANTLY tell, "yep, this is Unreal Engine".

I just get that vibe...either way...I think it held a lot of games back last gen from achieving a certain level of realism that some games shot for (Mass Effect is one) and just don't want that to happen again.

But hey, if you have no problem with UE or how it looks then that's cool...this is just my view on it! thumb.gif

EDIT: Also, please don't take this as me saying that UE based games suck...as that's FAR from the truth (some of my all time favorites are Unreal)...but I certainly think that most, if not all of them, would certainly look better if they had used an engine like CryEngine. I mean, could you imagine Arkham City in CryEngine? Would definitely be a more immersive visual experience in my opinion.
