Agreed.

AC2 and Brotherhood were my favourite, in my opinion it was downhill from there.

Ubisoft has no issue with the practice of annualising its biggest franchises, with North America executive director Laurent Detoc reasoning that if the quality is high consumers will pay for a new series entry every year.

In an interview with Gamasutra, Detoc was asked if Ubisoft would like to make eighth, ninth and tenth instalments in the Assassin's Creed series one day. "I hope we will," the executive said. "I also hope we'll be able to branch out from within the franchise.

They're just churning them out now, like Call Of Duty, I feel its one of those games that get replaced by a "successor" in a matter of months or a years time like Call Of Dutys, the grasp of the storyline is slipping, multiplayer is almost exactly the same, maybe they should go back to a single Assassin again like AC2-Revelations or something, I just feel Assassin's Creed has become one of those games that become dry quickly, after you complete the main storyline, and do a few explorations, maybe try out multiplayer and its just dull after that, even the GTAs have more taste imo, I can go back and play GTA 3, Vice, San Andreas or even 4 and not feel this dullness that is coming from the Assassin's Creed titles these days, There's a ton of memorable moment in a few of those GTAs and other titles "All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ!" After I finished AC3 it got uninstalled, I feel I'll do the same with AC4, it's a shame really because the concept of it is kinda deep, the Animus, Templars etc using real world locations, conspiracy theories and spinning them to the game's view and perspective and making their own story out of it.

Imagine if they made a Bioshock game every year (Yes I know the studio got shutdown recently) Imagine they made a Far Cry, an Infamous or a Mass Effect game every year, there's one thing with progressing the storyline with sequels and new places to go, but if you haven't got any depth, memorable moments and the same gameplay to show every year it's going to get dull. rolleyes.gif

Watch Dogs looks promising, I hope I dont see Watch Dogs 3 in 1.5 years time. rolleyes.gif

Well considering 2 AC games are rumoured to come out this year, If true we could say we'll be on AC6 this year, maybe 10 in 2016, but if we keep it strictly to digits and no side games (Not sure what the other AC game this year that is rumored might be) perhaps by 2020 we'll have AC10 if continued to release yearly.

I don't mind annual releases as long as the games are quality. I think that's why activision is having 3 studios do COD now because they realize people are starting to see its the same thing and there is no improvement year after year. If the game takes a year to make and it is good who cares, the problem is the quality of AC games is not nearly as good as 1-3 although 1 was extremely boring after a while due to repetitive nature. 2 was the best one.

How I felt when FF13-3 got announced, I'm still on the first game I should of completed it 4 years ago lol, at least they manged to stretch another two games over a 4 year span which isn't as bad as what's happening with the Assassins Creed titles these days, and Final Fantasy games are often packed with tons of hours of content and story so I shouldn't even be mentioning FF as they are often quality titles with pretty deep story lines. (Forgive me FF fans lol)

Economically Assassin's Creeds must be pretty profitable so they just throw them out yearly like the Call Of Duty games.

I liked 3's storyline, I actually enjoyed the game and felt immersed and thought that it is one of the best ACs to date, I cant say which is better though, 2 or 3 It's a tough call for me, AC3 brought to the table enhanced combat, a new game engine with fresh new animations, it felt like such a refresh and a stepup technologically with the new character animations, combat, and improved visuals along with the nice storyline and a new more realistic and ground character imo, although I didn't really play Revelations much so I dont know what that brought to the franchise from a combat and story perspective.

Glad I got #4 for free, played about two hours of it and uninstalled it. Random pirate magically becomes an assassin somehow. K ubisoft, next time just say "give us $59.99 please, were desperate"
