System:

MSI 970a-G43 (Everyone's fave...LOL!!!)
AMD FX-4300 Black Edition @ 4.15 (Super Stable, know I can go higher later)
Thermaltake Contac 30 CPU Heatsink/ Fan
VisionTek ATI R9 270x
4GB Patriot Viper 3 DDR (1x4GB)
PNY XLR8 120GB SSD
2x Seagate SATA 500GB (Extra Storage AKA they were lying around on my parts shelf)
Thermaltake TR2 500w PSU (This is the only part I would do differently besides the mobo for a more serious rig with a 990 chipset)

Feedback accepted but not required

Good to know. I have seen nothing but stable voltages from it. And also I commented that this is something I would change in the post. Like I said this was a cheap tester Rig. Passing it down to my son. I did run into issues at 4.6GHz, but running at 4.2GHz for several days now, hours on gaming and ran PCMark etc with no issues or crazy temps.

Also I have been doing this for 16 years, so I think it's kind of like when Grandpa starts snorting heroin on Little Miss Sunshine....."When you're old nobody cares"....LOL

Also, mo offense taken. But... what I would love is what YOU think are quality components for 60-100 bucks as pertaining to PSUs.

Thanks man!

Rosewill Capstone even the 550 watts is under 100$ but you could go with the 450 watts if you are not going to have a bigger video card

I have an extremely similar setup as you same PSU and have noticed a very steady voltage. Same video card. I'm happily sitting at 4.5ghz with a thermaltake cooler aswell temps never over 51c it's not the best PSU but we are well below specified max components. You can push it higher. I've noticed a great improvement I'm games

I think thats awesome, love seeing people get more with modest hardware setups. One thing my research has shown me is that I would want cooled VRMs on my motherboard to feel comfortable OC'ing. This MSI board has holes cut for a heatsink but no heatsink on the VRMs. For my next build I will probably just go out and get a PC Power and Cooling PSU with a 990FX board.

Why Power and Cooling they dont have anything special anymore

OCZ bought them then FirePower bought OCZ so its FirePower that owns them now

That sucks..... Used to be one of the best. Well then that'll probably change. Probably one of those capstones you were talking about
