And I like their GPUs. Sure they are trash but if you are money conscious and they can do video playback and you have nothing to game with until you wait for a new GPU line they can be excellent.
They also seem to get faster every time by at least 20%.
It's obvious they can beat others on the discreet market but they are afraid of antitrust laws. Kinda like they could crash AMD (on CPUs) but they are their excuse of "competition" so they keep them around.
I also suspect they get immunity from national politics. Kinda like how Obama supports Apple over Samsung.
Intel is just hopeless at graphics they are pushing a lot of money towards it to catch up. Iris Pro is just a performance fix with a bandwidth overflow rather than actually making something good.
If you were to pair Iris Pro with ddr3 it would cry and still consume too much for what you're getting.
If Intel can push it out cheap it is great but I doubt it due to that L4 they have to add. Expensive to make.
Maybe Intel should ensure most games actually run with their graphics solutions rather than only trying to make them faster.

If Intel succeeds in cheap L4 production on their 22nm nodes they won't need anymore and AMD is unable to persuade OEMs to use 1080P screens that is certainly something that might happen.
Of course we can't predict how HSA comes around but either way it might AMD to push out Excavator based Carrizo on 20nm with HDL earlier Edited by maarten12100 - 3/27/14 at 12:22pm
