Driver LEAK!!! ANY help my friends? I need it badly!

I made a thread about two months ago detailing the issue, but it still hasn't been relieved. Basically, my driver (331.65) has been leaking on random occasions (every day) and using up around 95% of my RAM - and I have 8GB. Been going on ever since mid / late 2013 and very very frustrating. I've updated everything, downgraded, you name it. Uninstalling the driver temporarily relieves the problem, but it then resurges and somehow reinstalls itself within a matter of days. I would go back to the driver I had in July 2013 (yeah, long time ago eh?) but that restricts some game requirements for Nvidia driver versions.

Any thoughts? I am always told "Update it, try the new 'v10000000' beta Nvidia just released' but that gets old after having the problem for nearly a whole year.mad.gif

So update it to the beta? or, if the downgrade fixes it, turn off automatic windows updates. that could be what reinstalls it.

Yeah, update to the beta or downgrade to 331.11

Another problem I just observed: I downgraded it and the memory alas, started leaking to my dismay. And some games can't run with the older firmware.

My card is a GTX 765M. You see, what happens is I'll uninstall the driver completely - that solves the problem. But then of course I can't use my nvidia GPU.

I'll try turning off the update feature. Perhaps it's Phys X? Or some other NVIDIA component?

Thanks

possibly. Do a full clean driver wipe and reinstall from the installer on Nvidea's website. just install the driver (either the one you like or the newest beta that covers the 756M), no physx or other components. That way, nothing else can be memory leaking.

Also, perhaps being more specific on the games you play? could be a known incompatibility or something

Just did, also turned off automatic updates. REP plus! It isn't leaking now. If it stays like this for a week, I'll personally give you another REP or two for being very helpful. thumb.gif
