Need help with an old 3870x2 tri fire on a new system

Hey guys I joined about 2 yrs ago and i have read many helpful tips here so i figured i would give this a try...I have and OLD msi 3870x2 1gb gpu with i believe is an internal pci 1.1 bridged card and also i have a diamond 3870 512mb card and i was trying to tri fire these 2 and in some games it works ok but i cant really notice any difference in fps or speed ...the diamond card runs alot better than the x2 by itself but jus doesnt have enough memory to handle the newer games..This x2 card seems like it has some issues with the bios or powerplay features or something, itll run games fine at 60fps on 1680x 1050 on my 23" monitor but it gets choppy when there is movement in fps games like when you rotate the camera from side to side but works fine when moving forewards...i dont know if i should flash the bios or change to an older driver ...it has no voltage control in afterburner even with the the override, and overclocking it ive seen no results whatsoever, also th frequencies are alot different running at 850 x 901 vs the 777x 1025 of the single 3870... any advice would be appreciated. ive tried almost everything i can think of...I just cant seem to get them all 3 to work at times and its really jus the lag that bothers me...sometimes it will speed up really fast to like 90fps , then drop down to like 10 in other areas of the same game..
my system specs are as follows-

msi 990fxa military class 2 mobo w oc genie 2 (i leave it on oc genie lite)
amd fx 4100 ( oc to 4050mhz)
corsair 8gb ram (4 in x86)
win 7 32bit ultimate
rosewill 650w psu

thanks

Lol i dont know what i was thinking.. i now have an fx8350 @ 4.6ghz and an asus dcu oc2 r9 290x on the same system and it works great.actually my single 3870 visiontek 512mb ddr4 outperformed my msi 3870x2 in alot of games at 1920x1080. I think it was due to the internal 1x1 pcie controller on the x2 but I no longer use any of that stuff. Now I have asus dc2 r9 290x and 8350 8 core and im really tryin to push 5060 mhz but I have the newer versions of control center and clickbios2 so im searching for older versions now lol
