Netflix and Windows 7

Not sure if this is the right section...

Anyway, the web-based netflix player sucks, plain and simple. It's limited to 720p and low bitrate stereo audio, plus silverlight is a terrible video renderer and is quite buggy. But it's the ONLY way to play Netflix videos on the desktop that I know.

I also own a Roku 3 and Xbox 360 (which can do 1080p 5.1 mad.gif ), and I know the W8 Netflix app is supposed to be better. Is there any way to steam 5.1/1080p netflix to my PC without upgrading to W8?

I don't have Windows 7 installed so I can't check to be sure, but IIRC there's a Netflix plug-in for Windows Media Center. I don't know if it will be any better than the web player, but it might be worth exploring. smile.gif
