Intel 'Devils Canyon', Haswell-E, and Broadwell!

Looks as if Devils Canyon will be a "reengineered" Haswell with better TIM between the die and IHS? Haswell-E is what we all knew it was going to be, and a very small peak at Broadwell.

That slide says 2H 2014 for Haswell-E. From the horses mouth then, although June still seems a little too soon smile.gif

I dislike anything with "devil" in it. That said, the new chips sound like a step fwd for overclockers.

Hopefully it will be soldered like Sandy and not with tim like Ivy and Haswell.

An improved Thermal Interface Material (TIM) between the CPU core and heat spreader is set to improve thermal transfer in a new, enthusiast-class Haswell-based processor codenamed “Devil’s Canyon”

It better be solder or it will not be "enthusiast-class". The thermal paste on Haswell and Ivy really limited the OC of them, in particular Haswell.

Don't forget to put the source in the title of the thread like - [tomshardware] smile.gif

Also repost. He beat you by 20 min. tongue.gif

Before you rolled your eyes, it might have been an idea to ask why I'd suggest June.

Well, since you asked, it's because WCCTF reported last week that it would be. You may now proceed to tell me it is probably inaccurate. Which I was already aware of but then I reply to humour you anyway. tongue.gif
