ASRock z77 Extreme6 problem with Windows 8 partitions.

Hi guys,

I have 4 SATA hard drives and a DVD burner connected to my SATA ports on my ASRock z77 Extreme6. I have my Samsung 840 EVO 250gb drive connected to SATA3_0, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb connected to SATA3_1, OCZ Solid 3 60gb connected to SATA3_A1, and a Hitachi 750gb HHD connected to SATA3_A2. Therefore, I have the Samsung 250gb, and the OCZ Vertex 4 128gb drive on the Intel SATA 3 ports. Then, I have the OCZ Solid 3 60gb, and the Hitachi 750gb HHD on the ASMedia SATA 3 ports. My DVD burner is connected to SATA2_2. I then went into the BIOS and set the hard drive boot priority. 1st is the Samsung 840 EVO, 2nd is the OCZ Vertex 4 128gb, 3rd is the OCZ Solid 3 60gb, and last is the Hitachi 750gb HHD. I then booted via the UEFI DVD drive to install Windows 8. Once I got to the screen where it showed the drive partitions they where all out of whack. The drives where backwards. It showed the Hitachi 750gb HHD as partition 0, OCZ Solid 3 60gb as partition 1, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb as partition 2, and the Samsung 840 EVO as partition 4. The exact partition names might of been different but the partitions where in that order. Why does it do this? Why are the drives not listed in the order that I have them set in the BIOS? What I don't understand is ASRock says in the manual to connect the boot devices to the Intel SATA ports but the ASMedia ports seam to proceed over them when you try to install Windows. I never had this problem before so I don't know if its really an issue or not. What I did was I just installed Windows to the Samsung EVO 840 250gb drive, and once in Windows I changed the drive letters so the drives would be in the order I wanted them. As I mention above I don't know if this will be a problem or not as I never had this issue before. Could someone please let me know whats going on? Sorry for the confusing post. I am just trying to be as detailed as possible so you guys hopefully understand what I mean lol.

Thank you,
Rocky

Well, I guess the way I did things is alright because I haven't had another problems yet. Been installing all the Windows updates and so far everything is ok. Its just a little confusing when you are trying to partition and install Windows from the disk and your drives aren't displayed in the correct order.
