No but your seeing how easy it is to get conflicting opinions on a public forum.

Unfortunately this is the internet and people like to revive threads that were finished.

stevea, ignore what Torvi has said. He only has one piece of information that you can take away, and that is the graphics card that he talked about (R9 270X). Is also a good alternative as it is an AMD card, but you will need a second card to run a total of 8 monitors (4 monitors per R9 270X).

And yes you cannot run 750ti's in SLI but the computer will run those cards regardless if not in sync.

Thank you for pulling it back together.

I do appreciate everyone's help and comments. It has certainly been a crash course and I have to go re-read a lot and try to put this together.

Thanks again,'Steve

this basically... he can just get an AMD that can handle 6 monitors and use the HD5000 for 2 additional monitors. there is NOTHING his scottrade app can do that is going to stress ANYTHING that is on the market that can support 6 monitors smile.gif

the OP doesn't even understand his own needs because he's under the illusion that his display is slow because of his video card... java apps (most stock trade apps are java) do NOT stress the video AT ALL

stuff like this

does NOT stress modern video card AT ALL biggrin.gifnothing he's doing will be more stressful then opening up a word document or watching youtube... biggrin.gif it's like opening up a bunch of task managers and sitting there and watch the CPU usage all day long biggrin.gif it's NOT going to stress the GPU no matter how many monitors he end up getting smile.gif

for stock monitoring/trading, he needs 1st and foremost solid broadband connection. after that, there isn't anything that a stock monitoring program can do that would put any stress on a modern machine...

he does NOT need SLi or xfire... a simple card like this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129262&Tpk=N82E16814129262

will more then serve his needs and beyond

what people should be pointing out is he will NEED to get display port monitors to support that many monitors... not arguing over how many gigs of video ram he's going to need.... that single 7870 can support 6 monitors and has more then enough power/ram to drive business applications like stock trading apps... if he REALLY wants 8 monitors, then he can plug the 2 additional monitors into the HD5000 on the mobo and be done with it.

so... to sum things up, the OP NEEDS display port monitors, a SINGLE AMD card that can support 6 monitor eyefinity, and maybe a 4770 with 32gigs of RAM as well as a SSD just in case he feels the need to open that 250meg SPREADSHEET biggrin.gif

remember he's building this for BUSINESS purposes.. NOT playing skyrim or mining/folding...

THIS is what the OP is looking to render

NOT this

As far as I DO AGREE with you guys saying he dont need that bulky gpu, still i will stand ground for something bigger, OP said he is videoediting which IS gpu eating, with 6-8 monitors online+ editing on one HE WILL NEED power no matter how you bite it. Ofc we can make it like 1 gpu that will be handling all those screens and second working with videos and stuff but sli/xfiring them would be nice and if he can get something ballzy in a nice budget Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
considering OP got a nice wallet from what he built so far
then just simple question...

Why not?

This seems to make sense as what is shown is similar to what I am wanting to be able to build and operate.

One question that keeps coming up has to do with one program I deal with. I have used it for years with no problems until the last year or so as they keep adding to their program and updating and so on. They went from needing a video card that can carry 1/2 gig to now saying I need a video card that has 2 gig capacity. Their program is very intense in taking memory or something to run it, if you use a lot of what it has to offer (please excuse me if I have some of this mis-stated). Most are JAVA based and run fine with what I currently have but when I am running this one program the demands on my computers, all three, bog down to super slow speed. My mouse will crawl and when I click onto something it can take 15 seconds to complete, this is absolutely not acceptable in what I do. When I have their tech support help me and they even take control of my computer(s) they tell me the same thing, my computer is not big enough, fast enough and the video or graphic card (?) needs to be 2 gig.. (I think that is about how the conversation goes.

So, I am willing to invest in a computer build I just am not sure what goes with what and I would rather have over kill than slow or not big enough or however the correct way to say it would be.

I run off a cable internet. I purchased a Apple Time Machine with the router and was told that was great to use, if anyone know about this part please let me know if I need to do something different here. It has a speed of 10 MB (?) whatever that is it is 10. When I do a speed test it always comes in at 9.68 or so. I would love to have more but right now that is all there is.

That is about all I know to add to see if it helps clear anything up. So far, I do not mind what has been said and shown and I am not trying to get by, nor do I want to go crazy but I do want to have plenty to do what I want to and not have to worry about messing with this for some time to come if possible.

Thanks again to all who are replying, it is very much appreciated and quite an education.

Your cable internet is fine and that Apple Time Machine will work alright as well. That list of parts you picked in the beginning is still a great parts list but like what psyclum said instead of getting 750Ti's get a VisionTek Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB 6 Video Card. You won't run into that 15 second pause BS for at least two years.
