it is definitely worth upgrading to a i7 4770k from a i7 2600k - Page 2

Need to put in my 2cents.gif here....

It is fine that you upgraded, you won't have to do so for a while now, but if you were thinking of upgrading and had the funds to do so, why wouldn't you push your old CPU to the limits with an OC? Get the most you can out of it and if it dies then oh well then you have to upgrade (which you wanted to do anyway).

Also about COD... i was running a fx-6100 and a 6870 essentially flawlessly a few years back... probably not the best example you could have given haha.

All haswell chips work with all Z87 motherboards. All Sandy bridge chips worked with all P67 and Z68 motherboards

Seeing as he had 2x 780s I can only assume he's one of those "120 fps or I'm lagging" guys. Lol
Also im not 100% your cpu was giving you microstutters, you should of had 0 problems with a 2600k even at stock for cod.

I suspect you threw hardware at a software problem. A clean re-install on the 2600k probably would have fixed it.
