In my opinion, an overclock is always worth a try. While your CPU/Mobo may be holding your GPU back to only 35/40% usage, an overclock would make those operations that are allocated to your GPU faster.

If you decide to overclock it I'm interested in hearing the comparative performance numbers.

OK , ive been experimenting with my gpu oc the last couple a hours . first i did a furmark 1080p benchmark for base reference . i got 2123 score at 35fps . for a base test . i then went full blast at 1300mv with power limit to 20% and core clock at 1400 at mem clock at 1300 . got all stable at score of 2863 and 47fps for the same test. quite a decent upgrade . then i experimented more , returned to stock and upped only the power limit to 20% . 2529 at 42fps . down the power limit slowly and remained the same untill got it down to +12% .

so conclusion would be the increased power limit gave me the biggest gain and the mem and core clock gave me more performance but not compared to the power limit . also an interesting thing is my kill-a-watt shows an increase of about 50 watts from my psu . pulled 300ish watts stock and up to around 350 with power limits up .

questions to the experts , are those valid tests and benchmarks or did i do something wrong . all feedback and constructive critisism welcome thumb.gif
