Your orginal post for the Gigabyte 970 board looks to have 4 and the 990 had 8+2. Id look for anything with 6 0r 8. Depends on how much overclocking you want to do.

I'm sorry I'm not op. I just had follow up question and didn't want to make a new thread when this thread became relevant.
For my mobo 2 posts above, I meant the h81m p33. Does that one have only 2 vrms?

VRM's are power delivery circuits that consist of multiple components, have a looksie at the link below to read up on them

^ no

A fellow user here complied this great list that I found a couple days ago http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database

Read all of that for a better understanding of what to look out for.

OP, I'm using the Biostar TA970. It's got 5+1 phases and a 140W max tdp. It's a very good board, and I would recommend it. I've gotten to 5GHz without any issues (for benchmarking, as the temps got out of control, I only have a 240mm rad right now)

The only thing is, it's got only 1x 4pin CPU power support. So the Vdroop is atrocious. (~0.1V) However, if you leave CnQ enabled, (which you should be anyway) it isn't an issue, as the Vdroop will ensure you're never overvolting your chip. Granted, it isn't the best board in the world, it's amazing for $70.

I was able to score 3rd overall in global maxxmem scores for the FX-8350. http://hwbot.org/benchmark/maxxmem/rankings?hardwareTypeId=processor_2689#start=0#interval=20 Also, it's the highest FX-8350 memory overclock submitted from Overclock.net. (My username is TrueFakts)

The guy in fourth place has the same RAM as me, but he's using a $280 Asus motherboard. So yea, Biostar TA970 gets my vote thumb.gif
