Hey, I'm looking for an open source soft to mount ISO in Windows, I used to have PowerISO but I reinstalled it last week and it gave me a bunch of adware (even though I'm sure I unchecked every stupid garbage box during install).
So something else, possibly open source, or at least just reputable and

Daemon tools lite is what I used, never let me down. use the direct download link from CNet http://download.cnet.com/DAEMON-Tools-Lite/3000-2094_4-10778842.html to make things easier, just make sure you don't accept any adware/crapware during installation

What OS are you running? Win7 has built-in capability to mount ISOs.

Thanks for the replies, I already know Deamon Tools but I don't think I've ever used it, I'll give it a try and see how it goes, I was more interested in open source software as I don't like that kind of free/premium strategy, but apparently there is no working solution of that kind for Windows.

=> Dachosen : I'm not aware of such thing (using Windows 7), had a look around and don't see any built in utility for it. Can you give me more info ?

I feel like I'm going nuts... I could have sworn I had seen the option to mount ISO files natively. Maybe I got it confused with Windows writer/burning capability to write ISO files to DVD. At any rate, I was searching around and came up this software option:

http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html

It's not open source. But Slysoft has been around for a long time and I wouldn't have any hesitation to try their software.

Windows 8 does, but Windows 7 never did.

I agree on the Virtual Clonedrive though. Lightweight, completely free and easy to use.
