OCing AMD FX8320 Help/Questions

Thread Starter 
I just overclocked my cpu.... at idle its around 20c but when i run prime95 it goes all the way up to 82c any suggestions?





settings--->

cpu ratio- 22.0
cpu bus/preg. freq- 200
PCIE Freq.- 110
cpu volts- 1.375v
cpu/nb Volts- 1.45v
nb volts- 1.15v
ht volts- 1.25v

Yes unless you're running a very high NB clock the CPU_NB volts are too high. 1.25v is good fr stock up to 2500. You're going to need some cooling for the VRM section such as fans blowing directly on them and also one behind th mobo directly on the socket. Also make sure you have plenty of airflow through the case itself. What you are seeing is the CPU socket temp not the actual core temps. But still it's too hot.

Looks like a bad mount. The H80i isn't that bad and 82c is too high.

So I should Re-apply thermal paste and remount it?

sorry fir the CPU_NB volts are 1.25v. I have very good airflow throughout the system, at normal use the cpu temp never goes over 45c

Try giving us a shot of HWMonitor or similar software that will show your Socket and core temp. That way we can tell if it's the core causing the heat or just a hot socket.
