[Build Log] Pipe works: from Switch 810 to Caselabs TH10

Here's my build log from my Switch 810 to my Caselabs TH10, which so far, is one of my favorite builds. I've changed the name to Pipe works as it looks like a crazy video game from the 80's, my generation.

Here is my current build, if I've forgotten anything, I'll update this shortly

Switch 810
MSI Mpower Z87
4770k
XSPC Raystorm CPU block
Corsair dominator platinum 2 x 4 GB
EVGA 780 TI classified with EK Nickel Acetal block
Asus pce-ac66 wifi
SB recon3d fatal1ty pro
Corsair AX850
480 GB msata
1 TB 10k Raptor
500 GB backup drive
Koolance RP-401x2 single 5.25"
2 x mcp35x
Aquaero 6
Aquacomputer Temperature Sensor x 2
RX360 V2
RX240
XSPC low profile compression fittings
Bitspower 90 x 1
XSPC 2k 120mm fans x 5

Blue-ray drive which might not include in next build, only use to install OS honestly

First unbox pic, of course, the Switch 810 next to the TH10, several coming.

Changes that will happen during this migration

Alphacool UT60 360 x 1
Alphacool Monsta 480 x 2
PrimoChilll 1/2" OD Rigid Revolver Compression Straight Knurled Fittings x 12
UV-Resistant Extruded Acrylic Round Tube, 1/2" OD, 3/8" ID, 6' Length, Clear 12 ft
XSPC 2k 120mm fans, adding another 6, total 11 for now

Possibly moving to
EK Supremacy Universal CPU Liquid Cooling Block - Clean Acetal + Nickel

Caselabs info

MAGNUM TH10 Case
(Case Color: Black, Form Factor: HPTX, ATX Layout: Standard, Motherboard side door: XXL Window Clear, PSU side door: Ventilated, Top Cover: 85mm Tall Ventilated, Power and Reset Switch: Standard Power/Reset Switches with Sleeved Cables , I/O Panel: None, PCI Backplate: Hex Mesh, HDD Cage Type: Standard 120 x 25mm fan (MAC-101), Flex-Bay Covers: Ventilated )

1 x 120.3 Flex-Bay Radiator Mount
(Color: Black)
2 x 2.5" HDD/SSD Mounting Kit

1 x Flex-bay 5.25 Device Mount - Short Nonconforming

So, just preping the Caselabs case, waiting for the last of the parts to come in, then break down and build in the next week or two.

Adding current and replacement monitor

Got all my parts finally

Added the casters, definitely a necessity with it comes to a case this large.

Adding the 360 to the flex cage which I eventually found out I didn't have enough room for

''

Power supply bracket, not necessary but nice.

Switch 810 before I broke it down

All the cards I'm moving to the TH10

Switch 810 totally broke down before I box it up to move on to the new owner

Motherboard in the tray with new EK block and Crucial M500 480GB msata OS drive that will hide behind the video card.

Moved the fans on the top since I have the extended top, might as well use the extra real estate

This is the reason why I moved away from the 360 in the flex bay and also removed the quick connects from both top radiators as you have fittings on the top of the radiators to fill and bleed air, worked really well.

Aquaero kind of off kilter but I moved it a few bays down and now it's a little more centered, no new pic

Moved the radiator to the lower bay, worked a lot better.

Drive bay pump, my thought was a straight shot of acrylic to the cpu in but ended up going away from acrylic.

Moved to tube, air bled, up and running, need to clean up wires, etc, might remove cdrom, stands out in a black build.

Lit up with some UV

The only thing I could ever say that I wish was different, was that the rear of the case was flush with the extended top, not sure why it wasn't

I used Swiftech Blue HydrX-PM2 Coolant and I noticed there were floatation, like someone was drinking and back washed in it, going to move a different direction next time, might go the distilled with an additive or go back to xspc ec6 mix. Also, when I went with flex tube again, I used more than six feet, so I had new XSPC FLX Premium Grade PVC Tubing - 7/16" ID (5/8"OD) - Clear / UV Blue. Problem is, they changed it from the old, so I had two different types of tubing, when it's lit up, you can't tell but when it's off, you'll see the difference. I have 90's and such, so down the road, I will probably replace all tubing, add the 90's, see if I can't clean up the tube runs and try another coolant.

Oh, I talked with Kevin, the lip on the back of the top is so you can get a grip to take the top off. I give Kevin and Caselabs credit, they've been very responsive and helpful, well worth the money.

Thank you, appreciate the compliment, it was two days of a lot of work and would have been a bit more with Acrylic, maybe some day. Still got work to do but wanted to see it up and running.

Lol, I'm guessing you noticed my antenna on the top, the router is in the front of the apartment, ASUS PCE-AC68 1900 wireless card and ASUS RT-AC68U router, great speeds. Thanks for the compliment.

Pre-wire cleanup pic

Pre-removal of the cd-rom that I rarely use, mostly for new os installs

Semi clean wiring

No more cd-rom, window view of course

No cd-rom from view with Corgi as he doesn't like to move

Tried to bend acrylic again today, closer but threaded the cord through the whole piece, made two bends, couldn't remove it, tried some force, busted the acrylic, that's the fourth bend and fourth failure. Don't think I'm cut out for Acrylic.

I think I've watched every episode of Kung Fu when I was younger.

I get a pit bull mentality and having a hard time giving this up. I went down to harbor freight today, picked up a heat gun with a base so I can heat hands free, see if I can get a better idea of how hot the acrylic and how flexible the acrylic is. One hand for the acrylic and one hand for the gun before, I was guessing how flexible and how much of the acrylic was heated, which I think was a good source for my failures. We'll see, if not, 12 feet down, I've got another 48 feet left...

Side note, thinking about switching to a red build. Mayhems blood red, switching the led's to red and the momentary on switch to red, event thinking about the motherboard to msi's gaming series (part of that is because of the msata placement, hence the thought of replacing it). Of course the bay reservoir led's also.
