Deciding on a budget case

Thread Starter
Trying to decide on a mid tower case for a new build. I got another thread on the AMD section on that but have all the core parts settled on, only the case and cooler is left.

Hoping this section can help me yield a bit more info on these cases I have been looking at as I haven't found many reviews on them. The first two both feel decent for the price whilst with the last one apart from the specs I can't find a single review on it and that one is at my budget limit.

Here are the options I'm looking at.

Zalman Z3 Plus http://www.scan.co.uk/products/zalman-z3-plus-black-mid-tower-case-usb-30-window-side-panel-w-o-psu

Antec GX-500 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/antec-gx-500-atx-gaming-case-2-x-usb3-3-x-fan-black-interior-toolless-w-o-psu

Thermaltake Versa G2 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/thermaltake-versa-g2-black-mid-tower-case-with-120mm-silent-fan-usb-30-side-window-w-o-psu

At first Z3 seemed like the one I was going to go with but then I came across the GX500 and now I'm thinking of spending that extra bit and going with that one. Both seem to have good airflow and ventilation with filters. I don't care too much for the window on the Z3 would rather have the side vent like the GX500 but still don't mind it.

Other suggestions are welcome too, thanks.

What is your actual budget? What are your goals? The answers to those two questions can completely change what cases I would suggest.

At the end of the day though, cases are half personal aesthetic choice.

Until you get back to me on those two questions, I'll toss out a few decent ATX mid-tower options under $50 USD:

- Fractal Design Core 1000
- NZXT Source 210
- NZXT Source 220
- NZXT Tempest
- COUGAR Solution
- COUGAR Archon
- COUGAR Volant
- ENERMAX OSTROG
- Thermaltake Commander
- Rosewill Blackbone
- Rosewill Galaxy-01 (and 02, 03)
- Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus
- Cooler Master Elite 430 (including the Red Edition, or any other similar variants)
- SilverStone Precision Series PS10B
- Xigmatek MIDGARD II

RAIDMAX and APEVIA also saturate this particular market segment, but I would avoid them, they are pretty garbage.

My budget for the case is £45.

I need a mid tower for an:
- ATX mobo,
- At least two 3.5 hdd
- One 2.5 ssd
- One optical drive
- R9 270X gpu

I don't need anything flashy, minimalist look for me. More interested in a case that just gets the job done. I won't be water cooling just air. USB 3.0 for the front port would be nice. I've already had a look at the NZXT Source 210 Elite and whilst good it looks a bit open as in it doesn't have any mesh or dust filters which I then would just spend more and add myself.

I am also limited to certain cases not just due to budget but some aren't available here in the UK like the Source 220, Tempest, Cougar and Rosewill cases Three places that I will probably buy from is Amazon, Scan.co.uk, and Ebuyer.

At the moment I'm going to go for the Antec GX500 if I don't find anything else and stick a 120mm to the side vent and another to the hdd bay from my current case.
