The Alphacool Cool Answer 360 D5/UT kit is very good if you want a kit, so is the EK-KIT H3O 360 HFX.

Else my recommendation is:

CPU:
Alphacool NexXoS XP3 Light v2 (provides a very good flow and lower temps, comparale to Koolance 380)
EK Supremacy/Supreme LTX
XSPC Raystorm
Koolance CPU 380I/380A (very good but costliest)

Radiator:
* Alphacool NexXoS Monsta (med-high speed, low-speed with high sp fans in p/p)
* Alphacool NexXoS UT60 (same as above, at lower speeds its better than Monsta)
* EK Coolstream XTX (similar to UT60)
* Swiftech MCRx20-QP/XP (QP for low-speed, XP for high-speed)

Fans:
* Koolance Fan 12025-HBK/MBK (less than $10, very high pressure, very high flow rate, a little bit noisier at top speeds but you can undervolt them)
* Gentle Typhoons (obvious choice)
* NZXT FX-120LB/140LB (great fans, nice performance, best to use in p/p on UT60/Monsta)

Res:
Swiftech MCRES-Micro rev.2
Alphacool Repack 5.25" Dual-bay res

Tubing:
PrimoFlex Afvanced LRT 10ft retail pack

Fittings:
Monsoon Freecenter six pack - any color of your choice (I like chrome/gold, looks good on clear tubings)
Koolance Fittings (low-restriction, high flow-rate)

the first thing anyone should post are questions.
what case are you using? what is your total budget?

Oh and the case I'm using a Antec lanboy air so I'm guessing a 240mm is best so I could mount it on top?

And around $200 would be ideal. I'm just looking for cpu right now.
post #19 of 25
not exactly ideal for water cooling because its hard to control airflow.
at $200 your really limited to low end kits.
xspc raystorm kits with the xspc 750 pump
swiftech h20-220-edge

step up to better kits in the $250 bracket(+/-$25) and you have a huge selection of kits.
buy used radiators and blocks and you have a good chunk of money saved. sometimes you can find a good pump and res used also. used fittings can also save a good bit. thats everything for a loop except tubes you can buy used. check the marketplace here on ocn.

I don't understand what's wrong with the $150-$200 raystorm kit if it falls within his budget. Works fine for me. You don't need a lambo to learn how to drive. The difference between the worst kits and the best kits are only going to be a few degrees anyway
