Please let there be Hydro Copper version of both 6gb and 3gb still. Not sure yet which one I'm gonna get next month. At least hopefully the 3GB HC might come down a bit more.

The cards should be 100% identical, with the other 3gb of vram on the back of the card.

Can anyone clarify if I'll be able to step up? I got my TIs in the first week of March. The new card will have 6gb of vram vs 3. Can i step up or does it have to be a whole new gpu?

If the card you purchased (new) is less than 90 days old you will be able to step up.... There is literally no need for a 6gb card unless you run 1440p/1600p surround.( or are using them for non gaming purposes besides mining)

Vram does NOT increase the performance of your card, unless you are hitting a genuine Vram wall. usage =/= utilization. Just like the windows OS, the more memory you have, the more it is going to use, even if it doesn't actually need to use it to achieve proper performance.

Nividia, i hated them for the 3gb limit when i got the cards, But love my TN beats IPS most time monitor, @1080 120hz, i use downsamles alot, beats all AA. ony thing i love about Nividia, is downsamlpe. In drivers. Beats all AA
Hate most of there oDrivers ****. Good to have competition .AMD+mantel

Yeah EVGA is bad with motherboards . Enjoying there Cards. but i can not step up. WHY.
Got my cards 13 weeks ago.

So evga does suck in my eyes/ Warnety i always have 1 year anyway.

EVGA sucks.

3GB limit? Do you understand how these things work? 384bit bus = 3, 6, 9, 12,... 512bit = 2, 4, 8, 12.

U will only need 6GB of ram if you sli or tri sli. Only depending if you Like modding or 60 fps.IE cryisis @ 3840 '1440 45 to 60 fps . with 780 ti sli. 3gb
I came from 4gb sli 680s. nut did not have enough fps. Now with 780 ti sli, I lose my modding. IE massive texture's with good frames. Hope i help

Night all sleepy

Let me fix that for you. You only need 6gb of Vram if you run 1440p/1600p/4k surround on brand new titles, and want to push max settings which will require 2 or 3 GPUs either way.

Any idea one when the KPE variant would be coming out?

Have no real reason for a step up but certainly would be interested.

The resolution on that chart is 4K which is 4 times 1080p.

I'm running 3 times 1080p (5760x1080 @ 60hz) on a single 780Ti Classy 3GB.

Is there any reason I should be interested in this new card?

The chart shows that games will use more Vram if the card has more vram, yet have no impact on performance for the card with less Vram (@least, that is what we are to assume, as it doesn't break down FPS) Note that the 780Ti is @ capacity.

I personally would step up to 6gb, and buy a second 6gb.

I did notice that but again, I'm at 3K. Not 4K. That's 2 million less pixels to be rendered.

I accept that if I want to upgrade to 1440p or 120Hz, I'll need more than my card offers but if I'm staying with the monitors I have, do I actually need 3 more gb? If so, does this card make more sense than waiting for the 790 or even 8xx? Based on what I've read so far, I think I'm better off skipping this one.

If I were you I would just add a second one of what you already have.

Who need AA @ 4K. for 70% of the games you dont need AA @ 1440p. AA is not only waste of GPU memory but GPU horsepower.

Back when I used multi titans for gaming I'd shove the AA to max with no problems, with one 780ti I can't max it with good fps, but instill use 2/4x msaa when possible. Thinking it's time to add another kingpin now that I've gotten some good overtime in the past 3 weeks.
