[EVGA] Step-up your GTX 780 to 6GB Update: 6GB GTX 780 Ti cancelled. - Page 37

Here I was thinking I wouldn't need to upgrade until the 880.

So how is it your 780 TI doesn't do this but my 780 classified does and they both have the same amount of vram?

Artifact and crash? Not sure what you are doing differently. Sounds more like an unstable overclock if I'm entirely honest. I've run maxed out since launch on my reference Ti and not had a single crash. Honest to god smile.gif

VRAM in Precision tops out at 3050 ish but not a single misplaced texture or crash for me. Roughly 20 hours play time.

That's so weird. It only happens for me when my vram goes past the cap. Doesn't crash in firestrike extreme, heaven or valley. No crashes in any other games. For that reason I ruled out the overclock (I only oc'd the core anyways, memory is stock clocks). At first I thought the game had a memory leak mad.gif

I guess I'm in the same boat here, looks like I might end up getting stuck with a regular 780.

I received this today:

Assassins Creed, Thief, & Batman origins are recent titles that come to mind for me. Thief is using 4.4gb on max settings in 1080p surround, confirmed these numbers with Occam, who is "only" running 2x titans in 1080p surround. Assassins Creed had about the same usage, and Batman had ~3.5 when it wasn't glitching out, stacking multiple AA's on top of each other. All while mainting 60fps like sleepysmileyanim.gif

I think we are seeing two things. A.) nvidia/evga are clearing stock for the incoming flood of Obscenely priced Maxwell products, B.) TRUE next gen titles are starting to surface... What does "true nextgen" mean? Titles that are not being ported to 360/ps3 any longer.

I'm personally looking forward to Rocksteady's Batman Arkham Knight. Should be a good change of pace from the last two games.

Gah I'm sorry, I keep beating this horse which is probably dead but we're talking about multiple monitors, right? Do people expect titles that need 3GB+ VRAM for single monitors - at, say, 1080p or 1440p - any time soon? Maxed out, maybe with 2x or 4x AA?

A single 780ti is unable to play anything maxed with multi- monitors.

because titanfall is a piece of crap is why, no way a game that looks like that should eat that much performance.

Precisely but I chalk it up to bad optimization, unfortunately I haven't heard any news about the devs fixing this. Keep in mind 30 gigs of the 50 gig install is uncompressed sound rolleyes.gif. Talk about epic fail. Anyways, I still stand by statement that 4gb minimum or bust for 1440p+ content maxed. That should last a while (a year or 2 anyways). Just my 2cents.gif
