[EVGA] Step-up your GTX 780 to 6GB Update: 6GB GTX 780 Ti cancelled. - Page 47

Hi Jacob. I just registered my evga gt 780 ti yesterday, and purchased last week. I know you can not be specific with the release date, but in your estimation, will I be within the 90 day step up program to upgrade my gtx 780 ti to the gtx 780 ti 6 gb? Do you have any idea, ballpark, when in June it may release? Thanks for any help. -

Bought my Kingpin about a month ago, I wonder if the 6GB will land in time to step up. *crosses fingers*

"If you go to http://www.evga.com/articles/00830/ and sign up to be notified and are within your 90 day Step-Up window, your Step-Up will be locked in regardless if availability and Step-Up starts after your 90 day window has passed!"

No. That is only the case with 780s and NOT Tis. I contacted EVGA support to make sure. smile.gif

Oh. Good thing I decided not to extend my warranty so I could step up. I would have been pissed, lol.

I was going to go with 2x Ti classifieds 3gbs and was also considering the 290x only due to the higher vram :/ We already have an SC/ACX ti in the house and it is truly a beast but the additional 3gb seem a bit more futureproof. biggrin.gif

Those of us who are close on the window need to ask EVGA to open the step-up window early for 780 TI 6GB, just as they did with the 780 6GB. 780 6GB isn't available for purchase yet, but 780 owners can lock in a step-up now. That is unprecedented for EVGA, and I hope they are willing to do the same for the Ti.

I suspect that this round of step-ups is going to be profitable for EVGA. If the stock of 3GB is low enough, and demand isn't being filled, then getting some 3GB 780s back AND getting the upgrade price from people stepping up may actually be beneficial for everyone. I hope so.

That's not what they told me 10 mins ago. On the link Alex posted, where it asks what card you have, there is an option for a 780 TI. What I was just told was that because the option exists on that special step-up page, it locks in the date on the TI. My TI is locked on March 27.

So you're saying you're locked in to a 780 Ti 6GB step-up right now? Or did you just select your current card as a 780 Ti?

I doubt he's locked in to a card that was never officially announced. ...

yes, we need some clarification here.
When I asked, the answer was that the promotion currently applies to the 780 6GB.
If you locked in your TI, let us know if your request gets approved. It will be interesting if it does, because there is currently no card to step up to from having a TI, unless you live in the us, bought the reference model and wanted to upgrade to one with an acx cooler.
