Both of my 290x VRM's heat up to around 95 as well with EK water blocks, i never used the stock cooler so i can't see how hot they got before that lel.

Glad to hear it. With a prolimatech mk-26 i've got a difference of 4 degrees between paste and liquid metal.

Just use fujipoly ultra thermal pad, not ek pad. You' ll gain 20 degrees on vrm1.
