Yup, definitely time to cut life support on that one!

I might be able to help you out too. I'm upgrading to Haswell-E some time around June and I have a lot of parts to sell.

One of those parts is an an FX-6350. It can even run @ 4.5 GHz on a single fan AIO cooler. Higher than that hits "the wall" though for my current cooling. Still, It's not quite enough for my new 1440p 96Hz/fps habits. tongue.gif I'm asking $105. Let me know if you're interested!
I also have some memory that would work perfectly in this new build: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231538 These are the tightest timings you can get @ 1866MHz. Perfect condition. $69. smile.gif

Hey don't mean to be rude but it's against the rules to post offers and stuff like that on a thread. You should consider taking this post down, and if you have business to conduct do it via PMs!

Why hasnt the 771 mod been mentioned? He stands to gain more performance from cpu grunt from that type of game and that would be a very budget friendly upgrade even at stock

Ultra man your post also stands to be removed due to the quoted content redface.gif

The 771 mod would be a great option, just not sure if it compatible with the board! If it is that'd be great!

And I wouldn't mind my comment being removed as well, In fact can you guys flag it so it gets taken down as well?

Well the test itself would be really cheap lol he could run over to the official thread or send a PM to pioneerisloud and see if he has any off hand knowledge for the subject.

Well it looks like the post was edited but your quote remains lol

There is a modification you can do to make 771 server chips work on your 775 board.

The only reason why a lot of people are interested in it is because of the fact the server chips are DIRT cheap for quad cores. Most of them overclock to 4.0Ghz

Yea that was my bad, OCN TOS states that you must have 35 rep to do this and postings must be in the marketplace only so I got a warning.

If you like to get the best deal make sure you check (usually in this order) newegg, ebay, amazon, and craigslist. Newegg lists the cheapest open box deals at the end of the list when even when you sort by lowest price so watch out for that. And when buying from ebay take note of where it's shipping from.Anything from China takes forever to even get moving in my experience and is not worth the $5 you may save.

Do you plan on overclocking at all? If so, the motherboard you're planning on getting might not be the best for the money. (I actually wouldn't count on it at stock especially with 1866MHz memory only being "unofficially" supported on that board).
This ASUS M5A99FX open box ($108) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131851R will get you leagues further than that ultra basic Asrock U3S3. It's a great value for the performance. Not to mention the UEFI bios's on Asus motherboards are usually very good. Also, I have personally had a ton of crap from Asrock's bios's even on the ultra high end boards like the $180 Asrock Extreme9 990FX)

If you want to go another huge step further in overclocking capability you'll want this Asus Sabertooth 990FX ($148 new) http://bit.ly/1hOPc1g It has a high end 8+4 VRM (voltage regulator module) which is a large factor in your max overclock and will get you further than the ASUS M5A99FX's 4+2 VRM for sure. It's up to you to decide if it's worth the 40 price bump though Still a better than decent value. I'm about to buy one myself so I'll be able to give you some really solid advice on overclocking with a 6350 if that's what you choose.

Also, the memory I currently own (G.Skill Ripjaws X 1866 8-9-9-24) ($79 )http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231538 has much tighter timings vs the Corsair Vengence's 1866MHz 9-10-9-27 not to mention the G.Skill is $9 cheaper on newegg
Then there's some of this good G.Skill Ripjaws X 2133 9-11-10-28 for $79 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231476 which has the best performance of the three. This is definitely the one to get.

Question for you, how much space do you need? If you can manage with just 256GB or you already have a decent sized HDD to add to the system laying around why not go for an SSD instead? If you upgrade nothing else an SSD will give you a MASSIVE performance boost vs a hard drive even on your current machine.
