Need help with my first $3500 ultra-quiet water-cooled 4 GPU system - Page 2

I just want to add a fair warning to this thread. Your looking at an extremely pricey and complex build for your first water-cooled system. (If this is your first) There a several potential pitfalls to this setup that you should be aware of before you really decide. First, chance of failure. There is always the chance of a tubing or containment failure with a liquid cooled system. This should be a very real concern for you as you mentioned going into debt with this. If this happens, thought the odds are low, you could lose your entire system, with no chance of a refund.

I really just mean this as a friendly warning, and a heads up. I wouldn't recommend it if you have to put the hardware on a type of credit. Make sure you can afford replacement costs. Other than that, I seriously wish you the best of luck man!thumb.gif

first, that xl r2 wont take a 280 rad in the front. it accepts a 240.

those fans you picked are 120 mounts and horrible for rads. i have the the 140 blue vortex. good fans but not exactly quiet either.

you can go with a socket 2011 build and have better gpu performance. that z87 board is still limited to (dual x16 or x16/x8/x8 or quad x8). 2011 can go quad x16. a decent 2011 mobo and a 4820k wont really be that much more expensive. something to consider though is those lanes wont matter for mining. was wrong on price of these mobo
but you can buy pci-e risers from ebay dirt cheap. that means you can get away with a mobo with only 3 pci-e slots.

i would go with alphacool xt45 280 for the same price. as long as you have the room for thickness...

With that much heat to dissipate, I suggest looking at a different case.

Check into a Ethoos primo. It should give you a ton of space for raddage and its enclosed, so it should give you some quietness
