Windows 7 + Z87 RAID? HOW????

This is driving me nuts, I've been messing with it for about 10 hours now and can't get this stupid OS to install. My motherboard is the MSI Z87i AC gaming, I created my RAID 0 array in the Intel RST software and made sure it is bootable. Everything is good there, load up Windows 7 installer, no drives detected as expected. I load the iRST driver from my USB stick and then I can see the drives, but it just tells me it can't install to anything, the BIOS does not support it. I've faced difficult RAID 0 installs with X79 before but this is just ridiculous. No amount of refreshing, loading drivers, re-creating the RAID array, formatting/partitioning, nothing works. I have two boot otpions, UEFI and UEFI+Legacy. UEFI only won't work, AMD R9 290 is apparently not new enough to work with it and it just shuts it right back off automatically after giving me some message about it. I can not boot the USB stick installer in UEFI mode either, it just runs the UEFI script and does approximately nothing.

Anyone know how to make this work? I'm getting way too frustrated with it.

The problem:

You can't install the drivers until you start the Windows install
You can't install to the array because it doesn't appear in the BIOS.

The solution:

Install the driver at the beginning of Windows install process.

When the install process gets to the reboot, interrupt the reboot and boot again and use the key press to enter the Raid configuration and configure the array (stripe size, etc.).

Reboot (again) to the BIOS (the array will be there now) and set the array as the boot device.

Reboot and continue the install to the boot device, which is now the array.

Works every time.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that wasn't the problem. The array appeared fine in the BIOS, and in the windows installer once I load the driver. The error only happens when you go to select a drive to install to. I forgot I posted this, it was like 2 in the morning. I did end up solving it, it was a combo between a corrupted BIOS and a very old Win7 ISO being used. Once I re-flashed the BIOS and loaded the new ISO up it worked fine.
