Rosewill Challenger mod.

So I plan on upgrading my GPU soon. The Rosewill Challenger has a major design flaw which I didn't notice until a while after I bought it. The damn case has an unmovable SSD cage right in front of where a longer GPU would go. Who thought that was a good idea? I did a little research about case modding and apparently a Dremel is the tool to use. My question is, do I have to remove everything from the case before I start cutting? Could I just cover the motherboard with a piece of paper towel to protect it from debris? It would just be a giant pain in the butt to have to take everything out and then put it back in.

I would remove everything so you can see exactly what you have to work with close up. In addition, when you are not working in such close quarters, you might me strapped for working space and overlook details that might have been easier to spot with the case in pieces. I think any modder would agree with me and that you should take your time so you are happy with the final project!

I would take a good look at how it's put together. I bet you could dismount the HDD cage separately by drilling out the rivets. Replace/refit the HDDs as needed. Willing to bet the HDD cage will fit into the 5 1/4 bays and you don't need all of them.
