Overclocking with Intel

Thread Starter
I really don't know how to overclock my Intel CPU but I really need that extra power so my pc can run games like Warframe at higher resolutions. Yes I know there are tons of guides and setups but none have my pc rig and they are just too complicated for a guy like me to even begin to understand.

So my question is how do I overclock my CPU, my GPU was easy as I used MSI afterburner but my CPU didn't come with any program like this and many people say it shortens you CPU lifespand and some things about heat sync and bus rates, and so on and so on. Just trying to understand it gave me a headache.

So my specs are:

Foxconn... I really don't think it would be easy nor would I recommended overclocking your CPU on that motherboard as it was never designed to overclock. It may be possible I just don't know how.

I was busy in CPU Z and found that my FSB:DRAM ratio is 5:8. A buddy of mine told me it should be 1:1 for gaming but I am not sure how to change it, any ideas?

Heheeh yeah use my xbox for gaming so my pc has been doing nothing for some time now until I downloaded warframe but my pc struggles to run it at the lowest settings which is weird as I pass almost all system requirements.

I downloaded fox one and it seems if I go above 340 on the CPU settings it reboots, the same thing happens when doing it in the bios.

Buy a new motherboard and a new CPU.

Your CPU is outdated, and even back in the day it was released, it was even then very weak. To give you a measure of how outdated your CPU is, it is six generations behind the current CPU generation and four manufacturing processes old.

Even if you manage to overclock your CPU to 3.2 GHz, something that is impossible with your budget Foxconn motherboard, your PC will still suck for gaming. There is nothing that you could possibly do that would transform your rig into a gaming rig apart from buying a new motherboard and a new CPU.

Long story short, you own a budget PC with the absolute worst/cheapest components possible and one that is specifically made in such a manner so as to be non-overclockable.

Solution: Sell your motherboard and CPU at e-bay, and buy a new motherboard and CPU.

Intel® Core™ i3-4130 Processor $125
Gigabyte Z87 - DS3H $85.

Sorry, but there is a limit in the useful life of a gaming PC. If your PC was a laptop, you could have used it for several more years as a work laptop but, as stated, gaming PC's have got a useful life limit, and yours has exceeded it by 2-3 years already.
