CM 550 Silencio - too hot

Hi,

Decided to move an old build to a new case...its an XFX 750i, Q6600, 4GB XMS2..
anyway the case i've put it in is a Cooler Master Silencio 550...apparently with all the sound proofing theyve put it in case ive noticed it gets really hot. i was going to try to replace to 2 stock fans that came with it to see if that resolves the issue....idle temps hovering around 50oC at STOCK!
anyone else had this issue? or recommend some fans for this...hoping not to spend too much as its an old PC and not main one.

another thing the sound proofing doesnt seem to be alll that 'silent' imho ...according to my iphone app it reads 60-65db redface.gif

Sound to me like you do not have good airflow through the case.

We need more airflow through the case than the component fans (CPU & GPU) use. This is at least 2x 120mm fans.. and with the restriction of vent grills and filters the intake fans need to have a decent static pressure ratings as well as good cfm. I normally use PWM cooler / radiator fans and control them with PWM signal from CPU and sometimes GPU fan headers. This allows case fans to idle when component fans idle, than speed up and supply the cool air need to cool components under load when their fans speed up to keep them cool.

Running prime95 at the moment . Been half an hour so far and temps around 65-70 ..

Any cheaper but good fans you recommend? Doesnt matter what they look like either as its not for show lol

Also cant see any inducation of the stock fan airflow direction...after putting my hand near the fans im not sure which way the air is flowing

Also i have an asus axe as a cpu cooler...could the clearance between the sound proofing and axe fan contribute to the heat?
