I feel like gaming is getting ...... - Page 2

Yes games are getting worse and worse and the very reason as stated above are the casuals. They come in, ruin games and leave. This causes games that do very well initially then peter off very fast leaving the developers scrambling to make another game fast and dumbed down even more than the last to get that quick turnover that the greedy stockholders want to see.

Game over.

Lets hope someone reverses the trend, I have high hopes for ESO, EQN, and FO4.

As far as games go, I find that if you can find a good F2P game that has fair bonuses for everyone, it can be very enjoyable.

For those kinds of games, I prefer the game World of Tanks. Very very easy to get the hang of, but it has such a level of depth involved with the armor system and the aiming system that seems to make me want to do better each time I play.

Great fun if you like tanks. :3 Just don't expect the Tiger II to be the end-all be-all in the game. tongue.gif

I still miss EQ and I think I've been gone for about 5 years. That game was crack cocaine for the gaming world.

I think games in general have gone down hill since Warcraft 3/Counterstrike Source. Those by far were the best games I've played. That and the community of players has gone downhill. Back the online community was more fun to play with vs now with a bunch of 13 year olds trolling most games lol. I think most not all newer games focus too much on graphics vs the fun factor.

this is, sadly, way to true.

even the community only looks at graphics it seems like, and graphics is like their major factor in determining whether or not to play the game.

Also, the community is so obnoxious in every game I play.

theres alot of "wow" factor in todays games, but no fun factor in the game.

I feel exactly the same way most of you guys do. I am 28 and turning 29 this year. I've lost interest in gaming over the past year and a half. I haven't had a desire at all to play any of the newer games and even when I do I only play them a few times and just stop entirely.

I think it's a combination of realizing that my time is better spent elsewhere and the fact that the games just aren't as entertaining or competitive as they used to be.

It's a shame because I have a nice rig that hardly gets used for gaming these days. I've found my self more interested in audiophile equipment lately.

I think this might be a myth. Only two games demonstrate real "next-gen" graphics, the rest have made little advancement within the last 5 years. They just shoehorn in ridiculous amounts of bloom, lens flare, and awful looking depth of field... that's modern day graphics. Crysis from 2007 still looks better than most games today.

Their real focus is on making a game that is playable for everyone aged 8-80, marketing it with what's popular today (like dubstep and Beats and Doritos), getting Hollywood actors to voice parts of the game, and releasing it as soon as possible. They just want to rehash the same crap yearly, making the most money with the least amount of effort in the shortest amount of time. It works too. You can't really blame the developers and publishers. We speak with our wallets and mainstream studios listen only to that.

for me personally, its not that i lost interest in gaming, its just that i cant find any games that keep me hooked.
not to mention, all the games are not, as you said, competitive or entertaining anymore. even in FPS games, people sit in 1 corner and camp.
in MMO,'s theres no incentive to keep playing after beating the main story.
in moba, its always the same thing, so it gets boring, not to mention, its a teambased game with a bad community, makes the game really stressful

i spend more time on OCN and watching tv shows nowadays than playing any games.
