If this is a non-conpatable chipset, why is Haswell refresh dual core good on 8 & 9 borads, but not the quads.

Again screw Intel rolleyes.gif

Yes I know, but I'm a modder/watercoooler, I'm busy and buy my parts over a few months. And I like the board and will have no regrets, if it performs as advertised.

My regrets concerning 4770k have not been determined, but i never win any kind of sweepstakes.

Very few enthusiasts were receiving extremely high clocking or even above average clocking 4770Ks compared to 3770Ks and the heat issues and throttling seemed much worse than Ivy Bridge.

I’m guessing Intel’s 4th Generation Haswell 4770K sales amounted to far less than anticipated, and Intel finally got the message.

I attempted a delidding on my first “very average” 3770K to overcome the poor heat transfer using the inferior paste TIM, messed it up badly slicing into the PCB’s dual channel memory lanes, luckily my replacement 3770K turned out to be a top performer.

Don’t look, it’s just horrible. CPU crime scene on the left, new golden Costa Rican on the right:

So where do these new revelations place the Haswell-E launch?

Broadwell this year is probably only a few mobile skus, otherwise haswell refresh wouldn't make sense to bother with.

That was a ballpark voltage, see if it will boot to 5.2Ghz voltage, but yes I'm pretty sure 1.300volts is good. I didn't stay at 5.2GHz long since I only have an H100i. Just booting to 5.2Ghz with an H100i is a pretty good measure of efficiency, ask Alatar see what he thinks, where my 3770K would place in the overall mix. My first 3770K would only boot to 4.6Ghz, no matter what voltage was applied.

Here is another Cinebench stable clock and volts, I think 5.0GHz at 1.300v is also good. 4.5Ghz @ 1.105v is not Cinebench stable, only Windows but yea, I think this 3770K is a pretty good one. smile.gif

Hah, phase change, wonder how that golden 4770K would clock with an H100i? Wait, that didn't make any sense. tongue.gif

Yea, I hope I also get as lucky with a new HWE.

...and, I know, I know, I get yelled at all the time on ocn so finally taking the leap into real water cooling, purchased an XSPC RX360V3 at Performance-PCS, going to build a loop before HWE debuts.

Bundymania review showed it one of the top 360mm performers, and I've been wanting an XSPC RX360 since they were selling version one, when still in college, zero money, so happy to hear verson 3 was coming out, bought it first day available in the US late January, sitting on my shelf, just waiting.

Back on Alatar, how do you get such great numbers??? drool.gif

Sorry it was a mistake. What I wanted to ask was if the power consumption after OC will be within 54W?
