2 SSD Razer Blade Pro

Thread Starter
I decided as I'd lose way too much money if I took the 15% restocking fee plus all the extra trouble and being without a laptop for work for 3 weeks to not return my Blade Pro. I asked Razer support this and they didn't really give me an answer I was too sure about, felt like they was evading my question. I was wanting to install a second SSD for storage, and I asked if it would void my warranty, they said it wouldn't as long as I didn't break anything, but the way he said it made me nervous about it, as in he either A. May not really know or B. It will but he didn't want to tell me it would. So I figured I'd ask if anyone on here knew one way or the other? Also if it doesn't, what about the "seals" over the screws holding the case together? Thanks

If you break the seals then it's pretty much game over.

So pretty much I was right to be leery of what Razer "support" said? Because from what I can tell, there is a seal over every screw. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do not open them, it's game over if you break any seals. I have had a lot of Razer mouses and you can't get any warranty service if seals/stickers or whatever is broken to access screws.

Will I void the warranty by opening or upgrading my Razer Blade Pro's components on my own?
Yes, opening the Razer Blade Pro will void your warranty. If there are any issues with your Razer Blade, please contact the Razer Blade support team at systems@razersupport.com, or by phone at 1-855-87-BLADE (1-855-872-5233).

Do not trust the tech you talked to, they probably don't get paid enough to care about what will happen to your warranty if you do try to upgrade it yourself.

As I thought, I'll wait till it goes out of warranty then. Customer service from them has been horrible as far as their systems go. I guess I shouldn't totally count them out yet, but I've yet to see customer service that reflects the price I paid.

so i was looking at the new razer blade. 14 inch with the 870m. 3200x1800 resolution. but after seeing this, i guess thats out of the question... can the 870m even run that resolution well at max graphics? maybe with AA turned off?

I got burned with the VERY LAST old 17 model they had at full price before they announced the new models, I'd avoid Razer like the plague. The best they'd do to compensate is 15% restocking fee on a 16 day old laptop. I wish I had got the MSI GS70 or the GS60 that is releasing next month.

Yeah, and don't get me wrong, the Razer laptops themselves are great, I wasn't disappointed with it, I was just extremely disappointed with Razer the company. Anyway here are links to MSI's pages on the updated GS70 and the new GS60 http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?cid=6&id=467 (for the GS60) http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?cid=6&id=465 (for the GS70) also those prices are close but you can get them a little cheaper off of different websites such as Amazon and B&H if I remember right. If you don't have to have a thin laptop I'd suggest Alienware, you can get a real nice 17 inch for around $2000 that's a hell of alot more powerful than the new Blade. Also I previously owned an Alienware and never had any issues with it, was a solid build, so I can tell you from personal experience that Alienwares are great laptops. I'm hoping for a major hardware failure where Razer has to give me a new model. Hopefully karma will catch up with Razer.

I'm still trying to figure out, did they used to not put seals over the screws or are some people so dumb that they didn't know there was seals over the screws? That's the first thing I looked for when I got it in and it was pretty evident that there are seals.
