[Build Log] - First Build Ever - Asus Maximus VI Extreme - 2014 - Page 2

I may be wrong but I thought I have read somewhere that now days with the performance of the cards having a dedicated Phys-x card may bog down the primary, especially it being a Titan Black. There are some threads about slower cards dedicated to phys-x.

Other than that it is looking good!thumb.gif

So had I but I did look at quite a number of reviews and benchmark tests and most found that even with 2 titans or 780ti's having a 650Ti or better added at least 20 fps to demanding games with enhanced physx settings on. Particularly Arkham Origins and metro last light. Got AO for 14 bucks on steam sale and with my 1 26 inch 1920x1200 Asus monitor all settings and physx at extreme, was getting 60 FPS with everything running stock. Took the 650 out and watched it drop to 48. But I'll run some tests when I get the 750 and maybe when I get my next Titan too. See what difference the PhysX card really makes.

Hopefully getting my 750Ti when I get back from goin out field this weekend

UPDATE

So My 1200i is now sitting in the local store waiting for me, screens are paid for and arrive mid next week fingers crossed. (Some dodgy timing stopped me getting them today) but more importantly, my 2nd Titan and my 750Ti have been installed biggrin.gif

The 850W seems to be struggling a tad to keep the whole machine churning, as I'm getting some slow responses at times... Possibly due to PCIe lanes stuffed with 2 Titans, 750Ti and my RAIDR... I'm now thinking a standard SSD or even 2 in RAID may have been a wiser idea... Ah well, add that to the upgrade ideas list. Once the screens arrive next thing on the board is 900D and a heap of WC and Sleeving!! biggrin.gif
