[Build Log] NZXT H440 "Chaos II" - Page 7

Things have been slow after my surgery, but it's starting to pick up again...into the final stretch!

I finished with the final tubing mods by installing the pass-through in the psu cover and creating the drain holes in the case. This way I can drain straight from the lower rad:

I also completed the LCD mod to allow it to mount on the psu side of the bezel...I knew this would be tight but you have no idea. The leds have been changed out to green and the voltage dropped and the lcd is green with black digits:

I also mounted the rear supports for the MB Tray and finished all the lower riveting. I was planning on mounting some led strips behind the MB for a 3-d effect and glow output. Just not enough room for my liking...too close to circuit contacts so this was scrapped. Installed the I/O shield and mounted the MB. Now I can start working on the wiring for the psu before I complete the front end rad build...I need a break from all the tubing issues I've run into. Too much for such a small case, acrylic would have taken almost 13 fittings out of the build and made life easier...next build or future mod on this one.

I also added some foam to the res cradle...this should help insulate and protect the res from the pump vibrations:

I almost went with white tubing as it looked really great inside the case, but I wanted to stick to a third color for contrast. I also had an all white inside with black tubing, also sexy...but I found the contrast between the two the most pleasing...

Your build is looking awesome, I'm jealous of all the cool mods like the drain port and psu cover pass through.
I just put in (hopefully) my last order with performance pcs so I am planning to get started on mine soon.

well depending on how the black tubing looks i might just keep it all white inside. only other thing i might do want is replace the led logo or add the fan controller next to it .

I'm looking forward to a highly detailed build log...

I'm not a fan of the red bezel on the psu cover either...remember this, if you add anything to the left of the NZXT logo you have a critical depth limitation due to the psu being right behind the cover, and if you mount it to the right of the logo, it's open area.

I've been lurking around this site now for almost 2 years watching all the cool builds. This build log made me finally make a post here and tell you how great it is! Please keep updating regularly with progress pics!

Watching this one and other builds using the H440 has made me place an order for it (Black/red) for my next build this summer. I love the images of the Aquacool rads, I want to also install 2 x 360mm rads in my H440, but I had no idea of how tight is actually is until your upclose and side on shots of the space.

Like MagicPuffin said before, This is by far my favourite build using this case. You are making the most out of it!
