My advice is keep your hd 7870 whenver you decide for a cpu(multithreads also is supported by mantle) and then upgrade with pirate islands in this year`s last quater

Thanks again, +rep, I completely forgot about Pirate Islands. I clearly haven't been keeping up to date as I thought I was. That should yield some significant gains like it was with the previous gen

Advice taken thumb.gif I will have a think about the CPU rather than jumping at it too soon.

Ah, dilemma, found a great deal on an R9 280X. Comes with original warranty and is as cheap as the most expensive R9 270X.

Yay ney?

Also reckon my 550W PSU will handle it? Bare in mind if I get that Thuban/FX-8320 I will be overclocking the living day lights out of it wink.gif
