Overclocked ram from 1600 to 1866.

Thread Starter
Hey guys I overclocked my ram from 1600 to 1866 mhx with 10, 10, 10, 32 on the settings and raised voltage from 1.5 to 1.55. My Ram is this in the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231489. Im just wondering if this is safe overclock since I didn't OC to much. Everything seems to be running ok benchs all run fine. Is there any software to test OC on memory? I mean for stability and such. just don't want to fry my ram. Granted only got a few fps on most things. but ehh.

Memtest. This windows program has been able to find memory errors for me quicker and more reliably then any other program I have found thus far.

You'd think a small overclock like that would be perfectly reliable, but actually you're not overclocking from 1600 MHz but from 1333 MHz because that's the speed of the chips on G.Skill and most other 1600 MHz modules.

In addition to MemTest86+, use Gold Memory because different diagnostics sometimes find errors missed by others. Also test the RAM hotter than normal, by turning off case fans, but you may want to remove any high power video card and disconnect power to the hard drives when you do that.
