Heavy FPS Drops in League of Legends

Hey! Im playing on this system:
AMD Radeon HD 7850 GPU
AMD FX-8120 CPU
Asustek M5A87 Motherboard
8 Gigs of Ram
550w PSU

And I'm losing a lot of frames on league of legends constantly every few minutes. That said it starts at like 120 fps and stabilzes itself at 80 and drops to 15-22 fps at random times. PC is cleaned and thermalpaste has been replaced (GPU and CPU). Other games like Borderlands 2 run fluently. Here are the results from OpenHardwareMonitor.
Keep in mind that I had skype and a stream open while playing for a while the results are visible in the max. display. The actual data is just from normal use so no gaming so the max. values display the important stuff.

NOTHING OC'D

The 7850 is a low end gpu so maybe the video streaming and the gaming is too much for it.

Does it drop like this when you JUST game

Yes even at low settings this problem has been haunting me for the last 8 patches of league..frown.gif

Are you streaming the game or just watching a stream? The 7850 is a mid-tier GPU, but it shouldn't even have any troubles just for playing League.

If watching a stream, make sure you turn off hardware acceleration(Flash and browser) as your GPU might be going into a low-clock state for when you're watching Flash content. League has very low GPU usage so your GPU may be thinking that its okay to prioritize the stream over League.

If you're streaming yourself, you'll just have to lower stream settings (typically video res).

Edit: How come you're hitting 90% usage on your RAM? That's probably the main cause of the slow down.

Whoa, you're also hitting over 61C for your cores, so your CPU may be throttling due to going past max temps. You should use a different program to watch CPU temps though, since HWmonitor isn't very accurate. Try using CoreTemps or Real Temps.

Your GPU is also running pretty hot @ 81C.

Hey mate! I'm watching a stream not streaming myself. Here are the results with Core Temp
post #6 of 177
TJ Max is the absolute max temps your cores can handle before they throttle, so since your core#0 reached 69C, your CPU cooler is not effective enough for your CPU or it could have been mounted incorrectly.

What kind of cooler are you using for the CPU? I would also suggest undervolting your vcore down to 1.35V and see if your CPU is still stable.

This is very common with FX Cpu's vs intel equivalent, not starting a flame war so please DONT either even an FX 8350 will do this in games such as WoW, LoL, SC2. Was just discussing it in another thread the other day. The user was playing LoL next to his partner and she had the 2500K while he was using an FX 8350, Her FPS were consistent hi did the same as yours dipped whenever heavy load was put on the cpu. Could also be latency or something if your internet is getting heavy usage?

Latency would affect the ping ingame not the fps no? I heard the same the about the FX-8 series a friend of mine has the 8350 and is also dropping frames in raid. It's just a heatskin and a fan on top of it I'll open it to maybe read the brand of it.

You are using a 90w heatsink on a 125w cpu...i would change it,which is your case?
