I have heard from a lot of people, mainly around the LoL forums and the reddit, that the AMD CPUs, especially the Bulldozer ones, have a lot of FPS and stability issues in LoL. This has also showed up to some extent on the Piledriver ones.

I haven't read much into it, but it could be a problem with the programming of the game or something along those lines.
Hey yeah a lot of people tell me the same thing, thank you for that post though I really should go back to a good 4 core or something man...amd 8 cores only create problems tbh.

I'd start small and invest in a good cooler that could work with other CPUs like cm hyper 212 evo. If doens't solve the problem then you can think of plopping more money into it.
you mentioned that you were playing on lowest settings also correct? did this also include ONLY having league open? and not any other programs?

if so, im thinking your PC isnt the issue (assuming u get the new CPU cooler and it keeps the CPU temp in check) but an issue with LoL coding.

cuz theres no way the FX 8xxx and your GPU should have that much trouble running at low settings

so he should also get a 125w heatsink or greater? and where can you find this info on? when i looked at specs for that cooler it didnt list the watts on it.

I'm not sure of any software fixes for it... (It is definitely a coding problem, LoL runs fine on dual cores)

If it only affects the 8 cores, try disabling 2 or 4 of the cores and trying it again. Maybe OC the chip to ~4.4 when you do that?

If there is no way to fix it (as much as I regret it involving jumping the AMD ship) I guess you'd be best off getting an intel...

I'm going to do it again and upload the CoreTemp results.

It usually gives a TDP rating but from the few I've seen just now they just mention CPU "Compatibility."

Again, I don't think this is an issue with the hardware... The software is clearly not working properly as there is no indication of throttling.

1.4v does seem like quite a bit for 3.4GHz, any chance you could nudge those down a tad?

lol. its cooling causing the problem, not the cpu...
if anything the 8core would be better for streaming, recording, multi-tasking and using multi-threaded programs.

You need some better cooling without a doubt, and thats bad when you have someone with an 8320 using a TX-3 (which is really old) telling someone else they need better cooling lachen.gif

also is it just me or is 1.4v for 3.0-3.4 really high?
my 8320 uses 1.3v for 3.5, and can go up to 4.1 with the same 1.3v without turbo, with turbo it would go up to 4.0 but use 1.4v it never needed. Silly amd doh.gif

if you have turbo boost on, turn it off, it uses extra volts for a boost when you probably dont need the extra volts and it could help with heat, that and I'm hoping you do have it on when I look at the core temp shot with half your cores at 3.0 and the other half at 3.4, that's either the turbo boost or some horrendous throttling from the lack of cooling.

In the league client, the window that checks for updates, press the settings icon(the gear on the top right corner i think). It gives you an option to check the integrity of the game's files. give that a shot.
