Need Help For My New Build

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I live in Canada and I'm looking at making a decent gaming rig for around $1200.00. Hopefully within the next couple months and could use some expert advice.
Currently have a 24" 1080p monitor and would like to run games like the new Elder Scrolls Online with Ultra settings and decent fps.
I've always had nvidia GPU's in the past so I'd prefer another. Also trying to stay away from AMD CPU's and more towards Intel.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Suggested Build:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K $240 @ Newegg
- Great CPU for general use such as gaming, also good for overclocking

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z87-HD3 $110 USD @ Newegg
- Decent mid-range motherboard, has more than enough features than you need for general use

GPU: EVGA GeForce 760 (02G-P4-3765-KR) $280 USD @ Newegg
- Skyrim isn't that demanding so a top of the range GPU isn't needed for smooth FPS on ultra settings, correct me if I'm wrong.

PSU: Rosewill CAPSTONE-550-M 550W $85 USD @ Newegg

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1866 MHz F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL $85 USD @ Newegg
I prefer 1866 over 1600 MHz because there is a slight performance increase in computer performance. I would say go for the 1866 MHz or more modules if they only cost 10$ more. It's worth the higher clocks.

Case: Personal Preference, I would say don't spend more than $150 on a case, choose one that fits all the components listed, Case with Side case window looks better.

HDD: Western Digital WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 3.5" Internal Hard Drive, Blue $60 USD @ Newegg
- I would primary use this to load most application and games and etc

SSD: Samsung SSD 840 Pro 128 GB $125 USD @ Newegg
- I would say get an SSD only if you want fast boot performance)

$985 USD in total without case. I would suggest cases such as the Corsair 650D, Corsair Vengeance C70, Antec Eleven Hundred, Cooler Master HAF X
