@1080p(60Hz) and no AA, it'll be pretty smooth on max settings depending on your overclock on your 780.

Get your cpu to 4.5Ghz and GTX 780 to 1150MHz or so.

Stock clocks will be an issue on max settings.

this isnt my build tongue.gif
i was just curious how those parts would do at stock and at OC.
everyone says "crysis 3 is a gpu killer"
so i was wondering.

also, im assuming Crysis 3 is more GPU bound right? since people calls it the "gpu killer" ??

It's CPU bound in cases especially with any of:

a: Powerful gpu's, like an overclocked 780ti

b; SLI/Xfire

c; Settings turned down for increased FPS

Ran fine for me on 770 on close to max settings with no AA or FXAA (1080) but it's a pretty heavy game to run at times. 780 should handle better (good 30-40% faster if you push clocks)

While it is CPU bound at times, it's also threaded well - IIRC, i7 >>> fx > i5

After playing Crysis 3 myself through various upgrades and such I can tell you its a little bit of both in terms of needing a decent CPU and GPU. With my R9 290X at 1200mhz and my 2700K at 4.8ghz it runs great at 1920X1080 with everything maxed out and for AA I use SMAA 2TX because its more effective than MSAA and takes much less of a FPS hit while also eliminating jaggies on alpha textures and best of all I do not see any noticeable image blurring like I do with FXAA.

Now the real kicker is the 2nd level where you run through the grass with the Tower shooting missles at you, disabling hyperthreading at that part of the game cost me roughly 12-15fps! So its obvious to me that Crysis 3 does a good job of utilizing multiple cores.
