Looking for a new chassis

Hello!

I'd like to start off by saying that I used to be an enthusiast up until about 2 years ago when college started kicking my ass. I had to focus less on gaming and more on school, so as a result staying up to date on specs was not a priority.

My current build:

Case: NZXT Phanom (Full tower)
PSU: Corsair HX1000

CPU: Intel i7 2600k + antec/corsair closed liquid loop (forget which one)
RAM: Gskill16gb 1600mhz
Mobo: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe (i hate it)
GPU: Gtx 670
SSD: 2x Intel 520 120gb RAID0
HDD: 2x WD 640 Black, 2x Samsung 1TB F2/F3 (don't remember, not the eco version), 1x WD 1.5TB green
AUDIO: ASUS Essence STX (pci-e)

(I may be missing something)

Anyway, I've been having issues with my motherboard for the past 2 years, long story short, I will be upgrading the core components soon. I was thinking about maybe reducing the size footprint of my pc. What are the nicer smaller cases that would fit my PSU/Video card and 2ssd+2hdd, along with my cooler? Could mini-itx be an option for me (1 video card + 1 sound card)?

I'm not into flashy lights or epic air flow, I just want something small and stylish (black cube?) that wont sound like a jet and turns my room into a light show.

If I'm missing anything don't hesitate to tell me, it's been a while since I've posted in forums like this.

Thanks !

Fractal design Define r4

The corsair obsidian cases

My suggestion is to go on YouTube and watch hardwarecanucks, they have really good chassis reviews.

ITX only has a single PCIe slot so it's not possible. you CAN get a asus impact which has decent on board audio but if you insist on a discreet sound card, your smallest option would be mATX. (technically there is DTX, however it's not a popular form factor so mobo selection will be extremely limited)

as far as mATX, i would recommend either a TJ08-E or a SG10. if you want something with a small footprint but can allow for more height, then maybe a FT03.

if you feel you can live with the audio provided by the asus impact, then I would recommend a SG08

I don't know, it's a 200$ sound card... has onboard come a long way in the past two years?

it wont match the quality of a discreet, however the asus impact is the RoG version of ITX and they didn't spare any expenses building that board. it may be worth looking into the reviews of the audio quality for that on board chip. it may be "good enough" if you aren't hooking your computer up to a McIntosh preamp/tube amp smile.gif (no i don't mean apple tongue.gif )
