I contacted Galaxy support because with 2 card at same time, galaxy tools cant update bios
My original bios on B1 was 80.80,21.00.3x. Dont remember the letter
Galaxy support told me the throttling issue was only on A1 and febuary bios already fix this issue
The 5C bios dont have this issue

For me, i use Aida64 osd and i see gpu clock in real temp and i dont have any throttling issue with Febuary bios 80.80.21.00.5C

And me on both of my HOF, alway have the correct clock, stock or OC, boost press or not
For sure when the gpu is in idle, the clock drop lower than 660, but if i need gpu power they jump to correct clock (OC or not)
The only change i saw when i press it is the fan speed, absolutly no change in clock
And i saw same thing on this thread, someone ask what is this boost because he dont saw any change in clock

I have zero issue, no need to update to latest, specially if its lock my voltage

Thanks yo sooo much your are very helpful person i think im gonna try now the bios 80.80.21.00.5C and will let u know about voltage wink.gif and i will test the throttling again

Its very weird i falsh myy HOF with bios 80.80.21.00.5C i have same locked 1.187v with or without hyperboost button and the same problem in core clock it hits 1097mhz then start to drop 660mhz 554mhz 345mhz and never go up again i tried to over-voltage 38mv but its same i dont know what to do? do you think nvidia driver can unlock or lock the voltage i have latest driver 337.50 beta and i tried before the 335.23 WHQL but its the same with both driver i already contacted galaxytech support team they answered me :

Hi Karim,

According to out engineers there's nothing wrong about the card unless it constantly crashes or acts up.

Voltage vary from card to card. When clock varies so does the voltage.

Kent

And my Answer was:

I am not convinced with your answer as i saw many user for the Galaxy GTX 780 HOF can reach 1.2v as its for the reference nvidia GTX 780 card, I regret that i paid that extra premium money To buy your HOF version as i can buy with less money the GTX 780 Reference or any other company and it will be 1.2v not even 1.187v unfortunately like my GTX 780 HOF and same core clocks

I saw another nvidia users NOT HOF has locked voltage and they unlocked the voltage to 1.2v and even 1.212v with modified bios but i will never try that as i know it break my warranty.

with Bios 80.80.21.00.5C and Bios 80.80.21.00.5F i have same locked voltage 1.187v and i didn't see any user with GTX HOF card has the same issue like Mine?

So the Advertised premium components and binned chip for the HOF is not true and i f you don't solve my problem i will never use any galaxytech product again and i will advice all users and friends not to do as well.

So may you please solve my issue i still have the trust in galaxytech and i hope.

try with memory at stock clock

my both HOF can handle 1345 at 1.200v for bench

my Rev B1 can still 1345 in game
but my A1 is stable in game only at 1306 at 1.200v

the memory is very limited in OC , both can have no more than +150 on A1 and +175 on B1 in bench
in game, I never go over +100 on memory

Please i want to ask you if you can read VRM TEMPERATURE on GPU-Z because with my hof i cant read its shows 0'C ??

Nope, i cant
Its normal

All of nividia card i have and had, dont have vrm reading

I know some EVGA can read vrm temp but only some

All AMD 7970 , 7950 and 7870 from my old rig was able to read vrm temp
But never return to AMD,

Did u miss my answers with the bios voltage locked,nVidia driver and the emails with galaxytech ? i mean did u read all what i wrote above ?

I miised it but just read it

Its a wierd one

I tried same drivers as you and and my voltage is not locked

Im not sure with GALAXY answer, i understand they support only stock voltage and stock clock but come on, your marketing is around how this card handle a good OC

The problem is im not at home and return only next Thursday

I will help you a lot more when i will be at home

I will ask my wife to check it today ( she still sleeping)
I will do a video call and check at same time

For now its the best i can to help you

And GALAXY need to take you issue seriously, because you can RMA the card fir clocking issue, not only if the gpu is not stable

Its not normal if the clock stay at 660 or lower if you need power, you can RMA it

I tried 3DMark 2011, 2013, Geeks3D FurMark 1.13.0.0, Tombraider Benchmark stress test and Metro Last Night bencmark

The max stable clock i've reach 1254Mhz-1267Mhz with Stock bios 80.80.21.00.5F and voltage was 1.187v and the RAM 6.4 - 6.8Ghz

I've reached 1306Mhz with 1.187v on 3DMark 2013 with major artifacts but no crash when i tried Tombraider benchmark artifacts appear then game crash to desktop

Yes thats what im talking about the premium Hof and advertised binned chip i hope you didnt miss my last reply to them and i would like to send you again please:
