Here you go as promised

MSIAfterburnerHOFoemfile1.zip 0k .zip file

Extract the MSIAfterburner.oem2 file, copy it into your afterburner folder (must be the latest afterburner 4.2.0)

Then open afterburner>settings>general tab>
select the second drop down list under compatibility properties, click third party then click ok at the bottom of the settings page and you should be prompted to restart select yes to restart.

When you boot up your card should now be displayed as the correct one along with voltage control from 0.8v -1.3v you can test by setting it to .8v thus freezing your PC biggrin.gifDONT DO THAT! undervolting wont harm the card but might mess with your windows install

If it doesn't work just post your i2cdump file for your card and I will take a look, might be different but I doubt it. Good luck thumb.gif

Cheers for that bud thumb.gif

try setting the voltage to 1131 and +30 on the core clock with the power limit at 120%

leave the memory clock at default settings for now

PS: i know my card cant overclock higher because i started to see artifacts in GTAV with my card at 1430Mhz core and stock mem, and it also crashed in Just Cause 3, and my voltages are stock, so if im doing something wrong what is it? my previous card (750ti FTW) was able to reach 1411Mhz core and 6.6Ghz mem(+1.2Ghz effective...elpida FTW), and my old 550ti ran at 1070Mhz core rock stable.

Something looks weird in your power tab in that bios. the power is lower and higher for values where it shouldn't. Try using my bios, I tweaked it so it won't auto boost the core clock, meaning you have to set it yourself using afterburner, just ramp it up to 1400mhz core, then slowly raise it leaving the memory at stock. when you hit the limit by testing it on valley move it down 10mhz and leave it there and record the value, then set it to stock and raise the memory as far as you can and repeat. when raising core clock do +10mhz per try, and memory 50mhz.

I use this rom that I made when I try to overclock higher but I haven't had much luck but you might. flash it onto your second bios and leave your first bios as your non overclock. HoF2.zip 152k .zip file

+30 would lead me to 1418Mhz, and my card already runs at that clock with 7.2Ghz on mem, this is a custom bios BTW

fun story: i dont have a second bios because i broke the button when trying to get it out of my old thermalkate v3 black tongue.gif, and using the bios i have i only hit about 70% TDP, do u rlly think TDP is the reason for this bad OC?

If your bios ever ****s up you'll brick the card. My best solution is to try the bios I sent you as the power limits for min/max in mine are closer to what they would be. some of yours have double the figures which do not look viable what so ever. something in the bios you are using doesn't look right. Use mine it won't do any harm. It should be at about 1300mhz core when you start it off, then manually add +100 in afterburner. Then test it and see what you end up getting. if it's worse than your current one switch back to the factory bios and try that one, and if that one is worse then revert to your 1418 bios.

My TDP hits 99% when i give it everything

Just to show you. ****. When I print screened the tdp limit lowered as the benchmark changed thingy. Anyway mine is at 90-97% TDP while running valley @ 1442mhz core, and +350mhz memory. and 110% power limit

So now I know that my pathetic overclock is down to my CPU and not my motherboard.
Running my 6700K at 4646mhz/1.424v and yes I have tried everything to improve it.

Used BCLK and multi? I'm doing 41x multi and 117.07 BCLK. I;m pretty sure I can hit 5ghz as I've never had a bsod since getting this chip. I'm also using some great thermal paste from Cryorig. Not delid either! so i think i'm doing pretty well, just my gpu has a weak overclock haha

yeah on a £120 motherboard, so I think i'm doing pretty good!

Also lower that voltage or it'll not last long haha. Most say keep it below 1.4v. Stock 6600k is 1.2v @ 3.5ghz, my 'game boost' in mobo takes it to 4.1ghz at 1.35v. And as you can see 4.8ghz with game boost off and 1.34V smile.gif
